Hi Pamela
Just letting you know I've been assigned to work on your entry on Maesteg - you can find the new version at A3870416.
If there's anything you'd like me to change before it goes off into the Edited Guide, just let me know

Hi Joe C Good to hear from you. One thing that does need changing is the spelling of Mari Lwyd. I have spelt it with Ll. It should be only one l. I did change it on my copy ,but it had already gone into Peer Review. I have put that Maesteg rhymes with Haigh, but I'm not sure if everyone will knnw how to pronounce Haigh. Only other word I can think of that rhymes is plague. Don't know if you think that would be better.
Pamela.

I'm really sorry, but you wouldn't believe how busy I've been this fortnight. I'll make those changes you mentioned now, and I'll let you know if I come across anything else.

Hi Joe C. I wondered about linking to a site with audio clips for the pronunciation. The BBC Welsh learners site 'Catchphrase' http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/catchphrase/catchphrase1/lessons/lesson1.shtml?index has audio clips, but you have to download Real Audio. I can't use it as I have an Internet TV box (no sound) but it might be interesting to those who can get it. If you think it's worth it ,could you add a link. Pamela .

I think that should be ok I'll have a look next time I'm working on it, see if I can fit it in somewhere.
Sorry this has taken so long (A-levels start this week!) - I'm aiming to have it finished this week. Otherwise I get stroppy emails from the Editors

Hiya,
I've finished! Can you give it one last read through to make sure I haven't changed anything too drastically, and then I'll send it off.
Thanks!
Joe

HI. All except wrong spelling of second Llangynwyd in the Mari Lwyd paragraph.
Not sure about "There is a large number of sporting facilities" Should it be "there are" ?
I have found another Welsh learners page on V Wales http://www.red4.co.uk/welsh/lessons/1/lesson1-1.htm You don't seem to need to download the audio clips there. I think you can just click on them, so it might be easier for more casual readers to access them. The BBC pages are more suitable for dedicated learners. So mabe you could mention that one as well.
for your help.
Pamela.

Oops! I shall change that - I retyped it while I was changing the word order, that one's my fault.
I'll change to "There are several sporting facilities", which should clear that up. I get the feeling that "There is a large number" is correct, but it does sound a bit clumsy.
I'll add that link - and then I'll send it off Well done! (although it might be a little while before it gets approved - there'll be a backlog, what with the weekend and the BBC strike on Monday!)
Joe
