Back to work...

Do I end every journal entry subject with an elipsis? I hope so...

Well, I'm back at work, and once again, I'm bored. It's given me the time to work on my website, and I now have a completely new front page (check it out at http://cutter.ship.edu/~smcbeth). I'm especially proud of the round corners on the text boxes.

I can't wait for the semester to start. I have no clue what I will do as president of the ACM club (Association of Computing Machinery). There is a lot that I want to do, but I'm not really accepted yet in the group. The only reason I got president was because noone else wanted it. It was rediculous, sitting there, waiting for someone to volunteer. I figured I had an excuse for not volunteering right away, I had only been to 3 meetings. The silence of the room screamed at me like a tortured prisoner screams in the dark chasm of despair. Erh, hehe, yeah.

Anyway, I figure I can't do too bad. If noone wants anything to do with me, then they'll ignore me and do what they want. On the other hand, I have ideas, and I've led groups before (larger groups, even), so that won't be a problem.

meh, wh473v3r...

Why you stupid crap for crap...

Okay, so Strong Bad has taken over my life (www.homestarrunner.com). I've even started talking like him, though my sister says I sound more like Rip Torn when I try to talk like Strong Bad.

So, I'm here, back at home, on my computer, at 536 Greenwich -5 hrs, so it's really 12:36 at night.

Like, I totally rock. There are these people on this webforum, and they are stupid. The one guy posted this link to a. ..... ah, whatever, it's not important. I'll probably go insane before the end of the month. This forum is about game developement, but all we talk about is politics.

I really can't think of much to talk about. I think I'll just sit here and type without looking at the keyboard or screen and just type whatever comes to my mind. I like ham. I'm a song from the sixties. I was raised by a cup of coffee (any homestar fans out there?)

Why hasn't anyone responded to my postings here at H2G2? Maybe noone is seeing it. How can I see other people's entries? Maybe I should have paid attention to that first message I recieved from my hitchiker guide.

meh, whateva....

And the prodigal son shall return...

Well, I'm not prodigal, but I am returning home for the weekend, just as I do every weekend.

I need to do my laundry and mow the lawn, or else I will have no clothes and my dad will get pissed at me (for not mowing the lawn, not for not having clothes. all is naught).

I'll probably end up wasting the weekend on my computer, since it is powerful, and good. I think it has downloaded code into my brain from my ocular nerve to make me addicted to it. I wish I could bring my computer to work, it i so much better than this computer here.

A run down:
my computer:
CPU: PIV 2.4GHz
RAM: 256MB DDRRAM
HDD: 80GB + 28GB
GFX: Geforce 4
FAST broadband internet

this stupid computer:
CPU: PIII 450MHz (MHz? They don't MAKE computers that run at sub GHz speeds anymore)
RAM: 128MB
HDD: 7.85GB (though there is 620GB on the network drive. Still, it's slow)
GFX: NONE!!!
SLOW broadband internet

you can imagine my frustration. Even opening the right click menu can take up to 4 seconds. 4 SECONDS!!! EGAD!!!

I've been thinking of leaving my computer at home, and then use remote desktop to hook in and enjoy the power of my computer. But, that's a major security risk, and it'll probably not be that good, considering the poor connection quality here at work.

The internet connection is constantly going down. Down to where, I don't know, but it's gone long enough that it could have gone down to Georgia, and it better have, because there is NO reason it should be down THAT long.

Why am I writing this stuff for the whole world (or atleast the other poor slobs at H2G2) to see? Because I want my voice to be heard. Action needs to be taken against these poor excuses for government computers. I need a better computer, and I need it NOW. Only through activism will we get what we desire.

meh, whatever...
