Hi Ian. I check here almost as regularly as the H & N board. I've been beavering away at work here, which is why it's taken 30 mins to reply to this.
Mary Bellamy trying to pick a fight with me? NAH!

The NF board has been playing funny buggers again!!
So here I am, and no shouting at me again for doing an intro on my home page. I really can't figure out this site at all, so if you'd kindly tell me what the hell I have to do to set one up I'll do it!
So how are you both? This heat is really depressing the hell out of me, I've got to move house soon and have to pack etc. but this weather makes it impossible to do owt but sit and fan oneself. (note I didn't mention any kind of ice cold beverages....)

When you're on your own page, click on 'Edit Page' near the right-hand side of the screen, and enter your own Introduction.
I don't like this heat either. I've never liked hot weather.
Time to go home, now.
Byeeeeeeeee!

Hi Nigel and others
It’s me Ann Mouse from the Health Board. I eventually made the journey into h2g2 after having “sowed a seed” a while back and I’ve decided not to be a “lurker” any more but to participate in the merry banter, if you will have me. Please check out my space if you’re at all inclined. I’ve been away for a bit and see what happens? The boards have been up the creek and all you lovely people have established yourselves over here, with much success! Great!
Sorry to butt in on your thread but thought it would be a way to alert you all that I found you and hope we can build up some kind of cyber friendship as you seem to be people who are interesting, friendly and tolerant and who have similar interests and outlooks on life as I have (if that doesn’t sound presumptuous).
Got to disagree about the weather though – I just love the sunshine and try to think “cool” thoughts. Still, I wouldn’t like to be packing up to move house all the same!
Hope you are all well and happy, take care, Annie

Well, many happy returns for Sunday 3rd! See, I DO read peoples' intros.
If we'll have you? Of course we'll have you! All comers welcome.
I'm glad you persuaded me to set up a personal space. It was a great opportunity to build a new set of links more suited to Health and Nutrition.
Don't worry about "butting in" here - we do it all the time.
Hope to hear more from you.

I'm brilliant, all the better for hearing form you! The heat is on! I just don;t think water has the same affect on thirst as beer! What is a chap to do! Ian XXX

Well you're right - this lovely weather certainly is thirsty business! Social drinking isn't quite the same when you're on a water kick and because of my birthday at the weekend I've been indulging in the odd glass or two of alternative liquids. Trouble is, because of the "diet" the effect of alcohol is quite startling! - I used to be able to hold my but was never one for
What is worse though is the effect of the so-called low-carb my well-meaning sister-in-law made for me! I sent her a recipe, which she promptly changed because she didn't have the right ingredients, and omitted to tell me until after I'd eaten it. Sabotage! That combined with a general over-indulgence all round has left me somewhat regretful Oh well, back to induction...
Cheers, love A x

Weak? I don't believe that for a moment. Besides which, you don't know my weaknesses... No, we won't go there, its too hot!
From what I have learnt about you so far you are being incredibly stong and doing well with your weight loss. As for putting temptation in your way every week with a crowd of beer gourmets, well, who wouldn't buckle at the knees? Weak? Not in my estimation
Always good to read your posts and fun to diversify a bit - I read your poem to Ruth - Struth!
Back to work, keep posting! Mouse x

Talking of low-carb , I've been working on a recipe for muffins.
Tim-Brooke Taylor "But I enjoy Muffin the mule."
Bill Oddie "You can get locked up for that!"
Remember that classic "Goodies" line? I'm going to publish the recipe and be damned on the H & N board.

Gosh, that was very perceptive of you, I have been stong for sometime!
The only way I can cope is not to start, if I had some beer I'd want more! This is a medical condition Nige can tell you about. Its called alcohol resistance, it means I need more! I drink a lot of water, but our tap water here is horrible, an I forget to buy the bottled stuff!
I have more weakness then most, so we'd better not compare notes incase you can help with some of them! I better get off this sunject quick or Nige will be giving me a way hey!

I agree with you about not starting. I find it so much easier to go without rather than just have a little. A taste of pleasure is too tempting for me!
( No Nigel, this is not a WAY HEY moment!)
Why bother with one square of chocolate if you really want the a whole bar? Or one glass of water when eight will do the trick. So, it's all or nothing for me, too! At least you know your limitations.
I rather like the taste of London tap water - well, it takes all sorts. When my brother visits from Birmingham he always brings a couple of litre bottles of his own tap water, which I don't find too tasty. Still, he drinks it after several so probably wouldn't know the difference anyway.
Have you tried filtered water, eg Britax?
See you! X

Annie Mouse Posted Aug 14, 2003
Another blooper - "Britax" make child car-seats don't they? My family are always telling me I use the wrong word in the right circumstances, or the right word in the wrong circumstances. Perhaps I do it on purpose to make sure they're listening
My experince with Brita water filters is not enormous. I do possees one but forget to use it. Actually I prefer the taste of my tap water, or else I'm sure I'd remember.
I used to have a good memory - perhaps I need more carbs? . Does Nigel have any relevant info about diet and memory loss?
Cheers!
x
