Hi Helen,
Still here, and been contibuting on and off but the tag-line "a bit fed up" appeared about a year ago. Since then, wife trumped me in the fed-up stakes, has been suffering severe depression for the last year and only now starting to make significant progress following a harrowing summer.
This year, read John Irving - Until I find You; Like a fiery Elephant [Story of BS Johnson]; Alan Bennett - untold stories; Michael Frayn- Spies [fiction] and just starting The Human Touch, a fabulous account of the way we see and shape the world, philosophy for the ordinary mind rather than the academic. Trashy-fiction wise, Dan Brown's Deception Point and Digital fortress, think I need a bit more in the mindless area as chewing gum for the eyes. Also been doing lots of sudoku and a bit of crying!
More later!
David

Hello again David
Sounds as though you've been through the mill. I hope things have finally turned the corner for you both.
On a lighter note - I can't get to grips with sudoko at all - my soon to be ex-son in law gave me a set? for Christmas last year and it's been out once. Don't really know how to do it and my ineptitude isn't helped by the fact that I'm useless at Maths!
I've been reading loads including the Ukrainian Tractor Driver one, The Kite Runners, lots of crime fiction and also Michael J. Fox's memoir - liked all of them. I'm still a film buff of course although still on DVD but I did go to see The History Boys at the cinema during half term (in Birmingham with my daughter) enjoyed it but did prefer the theatre production which I saw last year. If you get the chance to see either do go - I think you'd enjoy it and of course Alan Bennett was originally from your neck of the woods (loosely speaking)
I'm still thinking I should move - find somewhere with more chance of a social life. Trouble is, I'm all fired up with enthusiasm during the good weather and as soon as we reach the dark nights and damp days, I simply want to hibernate - definitely a SAD sufferer.
If you want to email any time - try this - [email protected] and then I'll give you my regular one.
So glad to hear from you again. Take care.
Helen

Thanks for the opportunity for off-line counselling, I dropped you an email to your disposable address. Sometimes I think I just need to take some selfish time out, but still mindful of potential knock-on effect!
Nice morning today, always puts a spring in the step.
Cheers

Not so nice here - very grey and looks like it may rain. ugh
Just checked Hotmail to discover that it's been so long since I used that particular account, I had to reactivate it! Your email may therefore bounce - sorry.
Try sending again when you've time.
Bye for now.
