...
to be indoors doing a level maths, at 34, in such lovely weather
On second thoughts - don't answer that!

imMature Student
Posted May 19, 2003
After being made redundant in February, I spent the time wondering where I was going, what I would do and whether anyone truly understands the forms that the DSS asks yout o fill in.
Factor in a sell of jury service where you have to sign off... do your service...and then sign back on, and its easy to get weary of the futility of existence.
So... with the fact foremost in my mind that this just *might* be an opportunity to change the direction my life seems determined to go to, I started thinking about university.
I left university after my first year in the late 80's after some horrendous personal problems in my life, which I don't want to repeat. Ever.
So I started making noises about being an imMature Student. Went to my local uni, who at first didn't seem too keen. Talked to a dear friend who is a professor there.
Filled in my UCAS form. Spent ages in dread anticipation.
Then GOT a damned job interview! Only the first one ever since losing my job, and sending out millions (ok, 60) of applications.
However I didn't get it, and the UNI then offered me a place. So I am set to go.
Anyone got a spare million to fund me?
