h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I know tragically little about Weezer, I just like bopping around to their music. Who's Ben Harper? (Why do I feel like I've just branded myself tragically uncool with that question?)

Don't worry about it. He's not all that well known. He doesn't have any tunes on the radio. He falls into the same category as Dave Matthiews. He's a really good guitarist and he manages to pull in bits of rock and R&B into his music. He's mainly a folk type musician. And dependingwhen in his concert he either just settles himself down with his acoustic guitar on stage or he's rockin out with a whole band. He does a killer version of Sexual Healin.

Well, does homeboy have a website? Now I'm interested!

I've been listening to a lot of Miranda Stone lately. She is very very cool. I did a write up of her on my Upage.

So do you dig folk music? What other bands and soloists do you like right now (any genre)?

I'm a bit into all sorts of stuff.
When it comes to R&B I like people like Erykah Badu and the Roots and Lauryn Hill.
When it's classical, my favourite is The Planets suit by Holst.
Earlier today i had soundtrack of our lives in my player and now I'm on to Dave Matthiews.
I love proforming and listening to Musicals. My favourite there is Jesus Christ Superstar.
My Fav contemporary band is...THE WHITE STRIPES. awesome stuff.
Favourite old style band is LedZeppelin and Fleetwoodmac although there are so many out there that I can hardly keep track. When it comes to punk, I like the traditional stuff like the clash and Rancid. When it's pop stuff I stuff like Jamiroquai(I don't know if that's spelt correctly).
Growing up , with music gave me a profound love of Mowtown,Abba,the Gypsie kings amd Simon and Garfunkel.
In a nutshell, I like artisit with something to say, something original and who aren't affraid to take chances.
another great example of that is Radiohead, big fan too. The new album is awesome, it gave me shivers.
