Hallo Will,

I want to thank you for coming to my rescue after crossing swords with Researcher 238222 on the WW2 site.

If you go to my personal space and look on my postings just under my personal space, you will see one entitled "Universal Granny", there you will find a "reply" from Researcher 238222, along with my comments back to him.

Did he have bad war experiences or is he as arrogant as he sounds?

I'll go to that thread and try to inject him with some common sense.

The problem that I see here is that, from his point of view, h2g2 doesn't exist, and we're all being not-so-serious on a site about WW2. If that was the actual case, I'd see his point (although, he didn't have to be aggressive about it)

There was a discussion on misrepresentation of h2g2 users when we deal with complaints on other sites, a while back. I try to stop it with two methods:

* My researcher name clearly mentions h2g2.
* I used some GuideML code to make a message appear when my Personal Space is viewed by a non-h2g2 user. Take a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/U226653.

If you regularly post to WW2, or other community sites on BBCi, I'd recommend doing those things, too. If you need help on the GuideML stuff, I'll show you how to do it .

Like I said, I'll see what I can do on that thread on your Personal Space. The researcher's probably just got the wrong end of the stick, but he still shouldn't talk like that.
