Not sure I am understanding what you're after here... I've never heard the Persian Gulf referred to as the Arabian Gulf. You are insinuating that this is in common usage?

At any rate, if this is supposed to be a personal opinion piece, perhaps you could create a seperate entry for it. Most people use their home spaces to say a little something about themselves. If your space said a bit more about yourself than so much about your views, perhaps a nice ACE will come by to welcome you to the site smiley - smiley

In the meantime there's me, so I'll say 'Hi' and welcome you to the site smiley - smiley

Welcome!

If you do, do have a look at the <./>Wrting-Guidelines</.> as this will show you what is required.

Have you had a good look round h2g2? Maybe you would also like a look round the sister site:

PERSIAN GULF

Hi,
Unfortunately the Petro-Sheikhs of Dubai and Qatar and the like use their Petro-dollars to fabricate new geographical names and falsify the established and standard toponyms.
In this trend BBC is a follower of the Petro-Sheikhs and stubbornly refuses to use the right name of for example the Persian Gulf and changes it consistently to "The Gulf"!!!!
Thousands of protests against this abuse sent by e-mail or post by thousands of BBC readers during the years has proven futile.
BBC also occasionally uses the falsification "Ar. Gulf". In my personal protest to such an abuse, BBC's answer was that they do not want to choose side in the discussions!!!!
