My dear Tabitca,

Yes, I am still here, sporadically it is true, but I am still here.

I retire next February and work has suddenly realised there is an awful lot more it wants to get out of me before I go! The pay is good, though, and I am putting that aside for my retirement, but the hours are long and exhausting, and when I am not busy at work, I am busy with grandchildren as they grow ever faster and expand their lives into brownies, music lessons, swimming lessons, football clubs, gymnastics etc. and my daughters get more and more frazzled.

Great fun though!

And how is life with you? How are the cats? I lost my 21 year old cat three months ago. He suddenly became very disorientated and kept falling over. They decided he had a tumour on his brain, but that at his age it would be fatal to operate. I had him put down and he is buried in the garden alongside the dogs he loved to play with and under the trees where he lay in the summer. He had had a good and very eventful life.

Thank you for keeping faith in me, Tabitca, and being concerned at my whereabouts. I have given strict instructions to my girls that when I pop my clogs, they should post the fact on my journal so that no one is left wondering. Better to close the book I think, than to leave everyone thinking the worse.

Anyway, I don't intend going anywhere yet - there is a retirement to be lived!

Okay! Cancel that. Retirement is off! I have not finished paying the mortgage, and there is no way I can retire until that is done. So it looks like another few years in harness.

I have read another of your threads, and I am pleased you are happy in your job now and everyone is treating you right - with the possible exception of a few unruly students. You seem to have waited a long time for this, but it seems your time has finally come.

I have a more modern computer now, and so I am able to come on here much more often, so I have been lurking a while, but getting back into the swing of things.

Do we have any idea where Tefkat is? She's evidently not posted from some goodly time.
