Hi Deborah,
I just wrote up a brief blurb on my personal page, see U781507 . I wondered if you could help me on one item. I have a photo taken of my grandfather in 1922 which I would like, if at all possible, to add to my page, or at least link to from some other location in the site. Could you advise ? I know that this is not strictly and directly WW II , but I believe it does bear on the historical perspective.
David

Hi David,
You're very welcome to add the picture! Best way to do so is to create a new article by going to this page:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/Contribute
Then you can link to the new story, with picture, from your Personal Page (won't explain how to as I see you've already done that).
Would be nice if you also linked from your grandfather's picture to the pic of your dad that Tricia put up.
Looks like you've already done a lot of research into your grandfather's history, but have you seen the pamphlets the IWM publish about researching war history? Some of it may be interesting to you, have a look at: http://www.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.00100a
Best wishes,
Deborah

Thanks Deborah,
I have created a new 'story' in order to link the photo, and it is now sitting at the editorial desk. Once it is 'approved' and placed I will edit in the link to the photo of my father, as you suggest.
The only thing I'm not sure about is where the article will be placed, my intention is that it appears below the family history that is on my personal page, but I couldn't see any way to indicate that on the story format. Will the editorial people do that automatically ?
Thanks again for the IWM link, I will be reading up on that over this weekend.
David

Hi David,
The story with your grandfather's picture has been edited (wonderful picture, btw), and you can access it from your Personal Page by clicking on 'See all stories and questions', and then selecting 'Show edited contributions'.
I see that you have already linked to the story from your personal page, and I have also added in the links to your dad's photo and Tricia's story.
Best wishes
Deborah
