Good evening how are you?
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 19, 2003
Yes I'm ok I guess. I'm just working out what guys like their girlfriends to buy them or do for them. Do they like to find little love messages or not do they like their partner to wine and dine them?
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 20, 2003

well i prefer to be wined (or rather beered ) and dined
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 20, 2003

Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 20, 2003

was just saying that somehow i got it into my head that u were male!
only wanted to answer your question from your last post.
sorry i didn't wait for a reply last night, but was tired after 14 hrs work
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 20, 2003
Don't worry you are not the first person to mistake me for a male
May I ask what your job is? I used to work at a bookshop but I quit due to academic work. Now I want a new job and I can't reference where I worked last does that matter?
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 20, 2003
hi again
sorry about going again earlier but was watching a film, and repied while the news was on
im a joinery manager, and i dont check references when giving intrviews. i can normally tell if a person knows the job by talkin to him/her and showing them round. if i think they are up to it, they get a chance to prove themselves
is that any help?
off again now
chat soon
jim
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 21, 2003
what sort of films do you like? personally I like adventure ones I'm not a girly girl
Sorry can you explain to me what a joinery manager does? I don't have a clue.
At present I don't have a job. I did have but I walked out as I was sick of it and it caused me to be unhappy. Now I am thinking of getting a job at a cinema but not sure how they'll take me quitting my last job like I did.
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 24, 2003
hi again
sorry its taken so long to reply, but ive been working away
to answer your question im a joiner, and i tell the other joiners what to do, check the quality of their work, coordinate work between machine room, joiners and sprayers, and make sure things go out on time. i also occasionally go out fitting when we have a lot to do to make sure it all gets done on time
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 25, 2003
its not really about bossing people about, but making sure things are done on time because i get the company directors on my back when they don't!

Ah I see ... so what do you do when you aren't working? apart from visit h2g2 which leads me to another question how did you happen across such a great site?
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 26, 2003
unfortunately, at the moment i spend most of my time at work because we have a lot on
i still have to sort my page out which will take a lot of time and patience
when i am at home we generally watch a film, which means i can't come online til it's finished because i'm on interactive tv
im an ex ld user and came across h2g2 when an ld friend sent me a link through my e-mail
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 26, 2003
Oh dear poor you so life is work and life is work not nice.
As for your space don't worry about it there are more important things to do. You will get round to it one day.
I don't know anything about ld users but I know that they exist. Do fill me in on them.
Ok speak later love opt
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 26, 2003
ld is short for leisure district which was an interactive site also available for pc. it had games, library, mobile phone, several chat sites etc. it was closed down and replaced with another site called yoome2, which really isn't very good. i go on sometimes, but a lot of my chat pals are cancelling it because they don't want to pay for such rubbish which replaced a far superior free site!
anyway, what about yourself? you have lots of questions but don't say much about you
you sound still young, and is gary your boyfriend
chat soon... jim
Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 26, 2003
I am 19 so I'm basically an adult Yes I do have a boyfriend but he isn't called Gary Gary is a fictional character made up through my creative mind. I attend uni and am studying Media Communications and English. I'm not that great at computers, but seeing as I have no tv the computer has taken its place and I find myself experimenting. I guess that sums me up really in my current state. But feel free to question me on anything in life I may well have an answer for it all
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 26, 2003
i'm no good with computers at all! i did computer studies at school, but we were the first class to do it in our school and only had a phone link to the local college! we were still using basic language and punch cards which went extinct shortly after the dinosaurs
so how are things going at uni? at 19 you must have just started. what do you expect to do for a career with media comm's? i did 2 yrs studying telecomunications... now i'm a joiner
chat soon

Hi there
Big Sis Opt Minister of love, life and laughter and ACE Posted May 26, 2003
You must be partially good with computers to be able to access the basics like the internet, html and use wordperfect or whatever package you have to write letters and articles etc.
I'm coming to the end of my first year at uni and this year has certainly woken me to the real world!! I've learnt that life is what you make it and there is good and bad out there.
I am interested in being a media researcher for the BBC but if I can't be that then I may just become a primary school teacher
Hi there
jim-39/m Posted May 26, 2003
i don't even own a pc! as i said before this comes through a link in my e-mail. i just go into my mail, click onto h2g2 and... hey presto! i'm here
as for word perfect, i suppose i can write english!
as for html... don't have a clue really have to look it up before i continue doing my page
