Have just read that you have taken part in many sailing races Did you know that tomorrow is "National 'Talk like a Pirate' Day"? There's even a whole website given over to promoting it: something like aarr.com (that was meant to sound like a , but probably didn't)
Anyways, it's not just a one-off, it's on the 19th Sept every year. It wouldn't surprise me if those money-grabbing people from Clintons' Cards came up with a set of greetings cards for the event. You know, after making up Grandparents day, pets day and probably venetian blinds day (or something equally random).
Cheers for the vote of confidence re. my name

aarr, i used to sail, shiver me timbers! Gave it up a few years ago, and miss it like hell!
National pirates day, mmmmmmm, prob right about Clintons, like the idea of 'ventian blind day' or there could be 'national worship a stone day' (prob one already)
Pleased to meet you John, im Candice. Oh noticed on your page your one of those ppl that annoy the hell out of me by posing a stupid task/question that is impossible to answer! Try this one, with 3 darts, using the doubles only, make 101? I await your answer! I havent heard that one for ages, but i THINK i have posed the question right s

Candice
You probably HAVE worded the question correctly, I'm just a bit slow and can't work out how it's done! ANY number when doubled gives an even number as the answer, so how the 101 can be I don't know. Presumably you know the answer, which probably involves something a bit tricky like doubling a treble or something?!?!?!
PLEASE PLEASE tell me, it's bugging the hell out of me all weekend.
John

sorry, i was wondering weather or not to give you the answer in advance, but its great, espcially when in a pub, and everyone has pens and paper out, calculators trying to figure this one out, it is the ONLY number that you cant make! Sorry xx
One of the guys i know has loads of these up his sleeve's, so i will collar him next time and get some more for you, maybe or maybe not with answers
There is one, and for the life of me i cant remember the answer, 'what football club is the ONLY one not to be named after a town, and it is in one of the divisions, including Scottish!' Now i cant remember the answer to this one, so will have to get back to you on that one! 's

101 is not the ONLY number you can't get using only doubles, ANY odd number is impossible because if you double any number you get an even answer.....
Queen of the South is not named after a town, but then neither is East Stirlingshire, Heart of Midlothian (all Scottish clubs) or Rushden and Diamonds (English Div 2). Are you sure this is the correct question? I'd love to know the answer you've got.....
Please don't be offended by me questioning your questions, I love trivia, especially little brain-teasers like these!!
Cheers Candice, John

Still waiting Candice, are you working at the pub tonight?
Here's a quick one for you: If it takes 3 men 2 days to dig a hole, how long will it take 2 men to dig half a hole?
