i feel really pedantic saying this, but 2+2+43-(5+5^0) = 41
sorry if that makes me a geek

Oh damn! It took me ages to get that! Can you help me work out a new one? Maths is not my strong suit!

Actually, I've just had another look, and I can't see how you get 41. I add 2+2+43=47
then take away 5 (because 5^0=0 so it's nothing and doesn't count)
= 42
Or is my ^ thing wrong?

the 5^0 is the problem - if you raise any number to the power of zero you get 1. so 0^0=1, 37^0=1 and 1434875930285605^0=1 
how about this one: 2(2^4 + 3 + 5^0 + 5^0) = 42 
i hope thats right, i'm feeling mathed out after my advanced higher maths exam yesterday
