I'd love to say "Yes" I was a real spy, but sadly, no. It was at the time when the Ayatollah Khomeni had just taken power from the Shah. Iran had become a fundamentalist Moslem state virtually overnight, and they were arresting all foreigners on sight. I was taken into custody when I tried to change a travellers cheque in a local bank.

An interesting life experience. I was only in there for six weeks, and then they let me go. Food was horrible, but apart from that no real ill treatment.
