... and welcome to h2g2.
Limitless is often how I feel. I nearly started a company called "un ltd" once! I had the forms for registering it and everything but then I took a job that would have been incompatible. Hmm, I'm not at that job any more...
I'm one of the <./>ACEs</.> (Assistant Community Editors). We are a team of volunteers who try to help new researchers for the guide find their way around. You can click on the link I made with that acronym in order to find out more. To find out more about anyone, click on the link made by their nickname (eg at the top of any conversation postings) to go to their personal space. Lurking is quite acceptable on h2g2.
One thing h2g2 has a lot of, as well as researchers, is these <./>Smileys</.> as you already seem to have noticed. You can use them in your personal space and other articles, conversations and journal entries. You just type the shortcut text and they appear as if by magic on preview or posting. For example: < moon > without the spaces becomes . If you switch to editing pages in GuideML mode you will get access to more graphics (see <./>GuideML-PictureLibrary</.> and other fun stuff but have to put more effort into getting smileys to appear.
Here are a few more links you might like to try. A660340 is a list of "Clubs and Societies" on h2g2. <./>Askh2g2</.> is a good place to start or join a random conversation. You could try the infinite improbability drive on the "Front Page" if you don't know where you want to go or <./>search</.> if you do. To <./>Contribute</.> further, you should probably check the Writing-Guidelines and the various schemes for <./>Volunteers</.>. See other guide entries too important to be merely a number at <./>NamedEntries</.>.
Above all, have fun and don't panic. If you do find yourself tempted to panic, click the "h2g2 Help" link on the left. It may help.
Now, if you'll excuse me, there are probably other things I should be doing, but I'll be back if you call for help (ie reply to this message or post on my space).

Mornin SEF.. In one of the convos im having a posting came in saying it was blocked. I was wondering if there was anyway to find out what that person or persons said.. If not no worries.. Also what would it take for a message to be blocked..??
Thanks for your time..

The moderators are removing/hiding more posts than normal because of a certain current event which must not be mentioned. Other than that, dodgy links or offensive language could be to blame. Have a look at the <./>HouseRules</.> for the list of things not to do.
Normally if it is just a single banned word or link that will be asterisked out. However, if the whole post is illegal, defamatory or otherwise dangerous it will get blocked out in its entirety. Under those circumstances you cannot see who posted it either (though sometimes it is possible to guess from the thread context or they even own up. The post cannot be removed entirely because it is part of an ongoing database and links together other posts in the thread. The italics (staff) can probably see the original text as I believe it is just a flag which is set on it to bring up the standard message instead when the page is generated but the whole point is to stop you or anyone else from seeing it.
Key: Complain about this post
