OK being more specific here AD with the smiley thing... when you change to GuideML you have to change all the things that are on you page.
Smileys which would be < choc > become < SMILEY TYPE="choc"/ >.
Things like < search > become < LINK H2G2="search"> search
A690518 is a good place to start if you struggle with the GML pages
Of course remembering that smileys are case sensitive and need to be in lower case, AND there is no gap between the words and the "<" or ">"
