A Little Bit More Goo-Friendly !
Posted Mar 18, 2003
Okay, okay, okay :
Before you all flame me : I know that working with a beige background is kind of against
h2g2 policy and, of course, totally unacceptable to the members of the
Classic Goo Fanclub
A362828.
But, during the previous days, to achieve a certain kind of font and size for the initial phrase, I had simply used the GuideML tag, which caused havoc with all the goo users.
As an offer of peace , I have corrected that.
? ?

Table Chart
Posted Mar 17, 2003
Hi !
Today is my fourth day on h2g2 !
I´ve never had any knowledge of creating "tables" before. But by adapting pheloxi´s U170113 design for my own purposes, I managed to create the "block" with the unusual background colour !
*phew*
This is so much fun , I could loose myself in it . . .
Up to now, I am not yet considering writing a (semi-)serious Guide Entry. And I am rarely posting below other people´s contributions. But who knows ? That might change . . .
Bye for now,
Best wishes,
- Karin.

Addressing The Visitor
Posted Mar 16, 2003
Hi !
Everybody keep asking how I managed to directly address the visitor !
In GuideMT, you can use as a wildcard / placeholder for the visitor´s name. It´s as easy as that.
I spotted the gadget on some other personal pages, which I examined either by replacing the "U" in the page´s link by "testuserpage" or by replacing the "A" in the link with "test".
Thanks to the A690518 "Spicing Up Your User Page" Entry, which provided me with the important advice on how to examine the GuideML of the pages.
Anyway, I have to leave the internet café fairly soon. a) It´s close to midnight here and b) I´m desperate for a pee . . . *shhhh* - Did I just say that
? ? ?
Anyway, Good Night to you all !
- Karin.

Newbie
Posted Mar 15, 2003
Hello all ,
I have been informed that everything I write down into my journal cannot be edited or deleted by myself ever again. While I am able to temporarily remove it from MY sight, it never can be hidden from the view of the others.
So I try to be extremely cautious ( even watching closely over likely occurring spelling mistakes ) . . . ( but bear with me - English is NOT my native language ! )
I just want to take this opportunity to tell you all ( as if anybody was interested <--- this smiley is blowing out the air in contempt ), that I am only occasionally visiting the internet (once a week or so . . .) - from an internet café - so I won´t be responsible for too much additional traffic or progress or up-dates here.
Yet I can also foresee that the h2g2 "universe" might lead to a very serious addiction.
As yet, I haven´t posted anywhere , but I might get carried away at some stage, as one interesting thread or subject leads to another - just exploring this world (Personal Pages and Guide Entries) turns into a journey of "wonder and bliss" I might never come back from
. . . !
So enjoy your time here and have a nice week-end ,
- Karin.
