I was just curious, since I noticed you posted at the h2g2 Timezones - and since one of my best friends is called Karin - but she's Swedish...

I rarely log in as Timezones - if it takes more than a week for me to add you to the time zone table, would you please poke me in the ribs to remind me?

Speaking of which : Well the open GuideML source code enables me to "steal" the best bits from other pages and adapt them to suit my taste - and I´ve become addicted over the first six days !

Just out of curiousity - did you join with the intention of writing entries, joining in the conversations or just reading?

My very, very first intention was to join in the conversations (hence my reference to the A442810 Peter Gabriel Guide Entry), but then, when I registered, I was surprised that I was given a page / space of my own you could do so much with .

As I´ve been surfing from an internet café for 3 years now (and that won´t change in the foreseeable future), that was something I´ve always wanted : a personal page in the web you can create out of existing elements in the web (I am not able to upload anything) !

Whereas I had visited the internet café before only once a week or so, h2g2 made me come here every day (since Friday) ! ! !

Up to now, I am mainly a LURKER A588440 , but in the future, if I find the time, I will join in the conversations a lot more than right now.

And who knows, if I find time "in abundance", I´d really love to write entries . . . !

By the way, Titania, Your "Spicing Up Your User Page" A690518 was the very first entry that made me think I could overcome this fear of that "cryptic code" (you know, like probably all new users, the very first day I considered GuideML and then I dodged it and wrote in "plain text") - so without you . . .

Well, I'm involved in several conversations - it all depends on what kind of conversation you're looking for - I'd be happy to guide you, if you'd like me to...

Take your time exploring the site - after 2½ years hear I *still* learn and find something new! But most important of all - have fun!

- Not yet. Thanks for the kind offer, but first, I like to get the gist of it all and to move through all "corners" of h2g2 , to explore it a bit more, to get acquainted to the atmosphere, the lingo (there´s a Guide Entry on that, but I haven´t bookmarked it and I am, at the moment, unable to find it), the common themes, the "celebrities" everybody ( but me ) knows - AND I will check out dozens of conversation threads to find the ones where the nice people hang out (who don´t just post one-smiley-posts or one word cross-talks ) . . .

Guess I will meet YOU along my path several times and I´m looking forward to that . . .
