Nice to know others listen to Metallica on here too...

Not a fan though... not a fan of anything... just an admirer of their work...


Looking forward to St. Anger... the new album... don't think it'll be their best work to be honest...


Did you watch the Metallica Icon thing... made me sick to see Avril Lavigne/Fred Durst and SNOOP DOGG!! doing covers of Metallica... not to mention the fact that Metallica actually applauded them...


They sold out big time with that...

I saw it yesterday yeah.. I don't think they sold out as much as they were being polite.. I can't imagine they asked for those guys to cover their songs What do you think their best album was then..??

Just read the stuff you wrote about the ICON program. Fair enough it does p*ss me off to see little kids jumpin' up and down to music they probably have no clue about, and seeing c*rap 'musicians' (Personal opinion) like Avril, SNOOPDOGG and Limp Bizkit covering a band because they're popular at the moment. But to slag off a band that has writen some of the greatest rock songs of all time and will, without a doubt, be remembered and played long after i'm gone (Unlike bands mentioned above) just because they sat through a program dedicated to them is a bit harsh.. Just because they earn money off their music is no reason to turn on them. I don't think they organised the show so it wasn't up to them who came and watched or played for them. People said they sold out when they made their first music video (one) when they stared to wear grown up clothes (LOAD) and now because they sat though a show put on for them.

Why do people think they've 'sold out' or that they owe the public anything?
