Was it you that was asking about those energy-saving lightbulbs?
While sunny days have been just fine in my painting space, on dull days or evenings the chunky dining room chandelier just didn't cut it. Suddenly I remembered something I'd seen on a webpage somewhere.
I went down to the hardware store and got a cheap single-bulb ceiling fixture and thirteen y-sockets and three half-dozen economy boxes of energy-saving spirals. After about fifteen minutes work I had a spiffy new chandelier that uses less power than two 100 watt bulbs and puts out the light of forteen 60 watt bulbs.
Here are some bad pictures of the result:

and, lights on:

The difference is amazing! It's like being outside in full sun!

That is a crazy chandlier!
Can I link to those pics on the blog? Or you can, if you'd rather.

That's okay - I just liked the idea. And I did try to spiff up the pics a bit.
My goodness but you're creative - it really was an innovative idea.

Of course, as I mentioned, I did see something similar on a webpage somewhere. That one didn't use the energy saving bulbs, just low-wattage incandescents. It didn't provide a whole lot of light.
The one I put together is painful to look at.

It's great - twirly tube madness.
The sort of thing possibly so bizarre so as to make it incredibly interesting.
Except I just found it delightfully weird.
And really, a great

a small typo on your blog post about the chandelier: '18' should be '14'.
I just found that other page: http://www.iamanangelchaser.com/processes/fractal_chandelier/fractal_chandelier.html
You see, I'm not the really creative one.
