Hi, Keith, good to meet you! I'm brand new on the Guide (actually brand new to the internet as well!). Sorry about your experience. My only real superstition is to never say, "It can't get any worse", because then it inevitably will! just God's way of keeping us grateful, I suppose. well, ciaou for now.

Hi Bryce
Good to see you messaged me
How good/bad things are depends a lot on where you set your perception of events. For my part I'm greatful for the experiences I've had, many of which may seem terrible on one side of the perception line but on the other side I strived against unbelievable odds to restore the status quo of my mind and regain the use of my legs and arms. Things may not seem great but my perception is that we can't all be Bill Gates in terms of our success.

bill Gates isn't always Bill Gates when it comes to success, I'll wager. I think it was J. Paul Getty who said he'd give up all his billions to have one happy marriage. Of course, riches are addictive so he probably wouldn't have. The point is there are many forms of success and accomplishment- we don't need to envy the rich, famous or "successful"

Absolutely, I screwed up the order of the words in my last sentence but I think you just sorted that for me (Thanks) so I still got the point across. Anyone who makes it through the birth canal has already overcome significant odds without even going so far back as the big bang theories which if they are true make us all a remarkable random success event. See this thread for that debate. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/
