Hi,
Thought I'd better not get into topic drift. Well maybe I just couldn't get the hang of Civ IV. And then again, maybe I'm just too old for this kind of thing, though I'm enjoying Emperor at the moment. At the very least, the Civ info files helped get me into history, so it had some educational value
What else do you play?

I'm actually doing a history BA at the moment, which I'm going to blame squarely on Civ. How could you not love a game where you can force Saladin to become Buddhist?
In a similar vein, I'm a big fan of the Shogun/Medieval/Rome: Total War games.

Well, the patches have smoothed out some of the problems I had with the game, so maybe I should buy it again and start over. I think it's more that I'd decided that open-ended games consume too much of one's time.
It was actually Age of Empires that first got me hooked on history, though obviously the amount of quality TV programmes also helped. So, what periods are you studying and where?
