Unfortunately yes. Most of the time I stay in control but when I lack sleep, I get cranky and start swearing at inanimate objects. After a particularly bad day, a co-worker with small children called me a pottymouth and I thought that's a perfect nickname for me.

I haven't searched this site for the topic of profanity but I work with two people who absolutely never swear - including when bumping a funny bone or dropping a plate containing a 3-day experiment .
There is a stroke that damages the brain's speech center leaving access only to profanity: my co-workers would be reduced to total silence but I would still possess an extensive, vibrant vocabulary

There is an entry about the origin of British swear words, which is really interesting (I contributed a small amount).
I think that everyone here swears on occasion. We know we've annoyed someone when they deliberately *don't* swear.
