Hi Katchoo
You might have noticed, I wandered into the Voting with our Feet conversation recently and saw the suggestion from Abi to create a film forum here. So I thought to take it up, i.e. at least provide a general one for everyone and anyone.
I know from friend Marge Gunderson that several of you BBC Film MB-ers are disgruntled but at the same time are reluctant to abandon those MBs, but maybe another forum here might be an alternative. Hopefully other topics and people will turn up, so you don’t feel you should double-post .
I’ve looked in now and again in the BBC ones but never posted, so don’t feel any desire to stay there.
I hope you look the Film Forum and even maybe post to help it get on its way. If you have any ideas for the Entry Page, by all means let me know.

PS Where does your name come from? Perhaps I mean why, rather than where from, I sort of know where such a comical name comes from!

Hi 3pickledwalnuts (splendid name by the way!)
I suspect that you may already know where my name comes from as you adressed me as Katchoo... I pinched it from the great Terry Moore, creator of one of the finest comic books ever commited to print - Strangers in Paradise.
I think it's a great idea having a film forum, there seems to be quite a few people around here that like films, although I have to admit I don't get over here as much as I should, hence the late reply from me here. For some reason conversations started on this bit don't seem to show up on the top left until I find them and post on them. It's quite a tricky site this one.
I'll have a pop into the Film Forum, but you mau have to give me a link as I'm hopeless at negotiating my way around here . I don't want to abandon the bbci films MB's but I don't seem to have posted much there of late anyway...
Cheers Kat

Hi Kat(choo)
Nice to hear from you
Funnily enough I didn’t know the correct abbreviation was Katchoo when I first used it (in a message to Marge Gunderson several days ago). I only discovered it was when, shortly before writing to you, I decided to search for your complete name on the Web. I suspected it must come from somewhere.
So you see, I don’t really know the comics afterall.
In fact, when I first saw what the comic series was called I was confused - I tried to recall whether there was a Katchoo character in the Jarmusch film with a similar name to the comic series!
I’m pretty new here myself, so don’t perhaps know the best way to get to the film forum (and that, though I’m listed as researcher who started it!).
But what you can do is to enter ‘film forum’ in the top right-hand box (Search h2g2). You get a list of film links and at the moment ‘The Film Forum’ is the top one. Then click on that and you’ll go to the Film Forum page.
If you scroll down, you will see the initial conversations (one by Abi, the ACE who helped, and the others by me, trying to get things started). These you can join in, or you can click on the blue text ‘click here’ in the entry page proper and start your own conversation, which as you probably already know, will also then figure in your own conversation list at your personal space.
I’m not sure how to advertise the page best but maybe Abi can help there. Later it might have its own momentum and people might regularly visit it just see what conversations are going on, perhaps joining in, so like they do now at BBC MBs. But until then, it’s a bit empty , so I hope you’ll contribute and spread the word.

Unlike , there’s no pickled walnuts in the smileys (though I can’t understand why!) but this combination is close in colour if not name to a pseudonym I use elsewhere.
