I ducked watching it, I knew what it would be like. Do you think as the USA loses influence, Israel might have to get on with its neighbours better?

I've had to think about that.. You'd hope so and initially I was going to say yes - but unfortunately, I fear it may drive them further into a corner, feeling more threatened, and may make their politics more right wing. People get more radical when they are scared, usually
The weird thing is that I have every sympathy with the Jewish population of Israel. Given what happened to them under Hitler's reign of terror, we (as 'humanity') should be doing everything to secure their safety and wellbeing - but they make it so difficult with the way they throw their weight around as a nation.
I rememeber my shock when I first found out that the Israeli government, in order to secure Turkish support, became the first major power to deny the Armenian genocide... It's all very confusing.
