I've just seen some posts of yours on another thread, and hoped you wouldn't mind me dropping in. Are you anywhere near Elmstead Market? Beth Chatto is my horticultural heroine, and I'm trying to persuade our U3A group to run a trip to her place,but....
Actually, I'm comparatively new to gardening, having been more of a livestock freak. My husband does the, er, spade-work, as you might say, and I sort of potter when it's fine. Embarrassing to put it into words. Back to the potting shed.

Hiya.
I've visited Beth Chatto's garden and it is beautiful. It's quite a way from where i live, around 40 minutes by car.
It is well worth a visit, though i would recommend going around May-June time, where the flowers are at their best.
I've been a gardener for years, which is why i work in the horticultural trade aswell, it feeds my addiction to plants.
Do you have a farm?

Evenin'
We used to pretend we were farming. We took early retirement in '82, and bought a small-holding, where I ran poultry, sheep and goats. When age and arthritis conspired to assure me that rolling round in the straw, trying to deliver reluctant kids/lambs was no longer an option, we sold up and bought a b'low with almost an acre of garden. 3 hip-replacements later, it was a relief when the next-door neighbour asked if we'd sell a portion of the land so they could have off-street parking and a 'bit of garden'. We persuaded them to take nearly half!! But there's still enough to keep my Master busy almost all the time, and me when I feel like it. Sadly I'm very lazy, but /this/ year.....
