Im not sure if you would know, but can I ask you a question regarding plants?...
Christmas trees to be precise.

I am the type who always has a false tree in the house as I like my things to be symmetrial. No branches out of place. All colour coordinated baubles and tinsel and lights etc. Im dead fussy about my decorations!!

But I have decided that I would like a real small christmas tree in the garden. One that doesnt grow too high (4-5ft max ish) as it will stay there forever when planted.
Where I want to put it does get the full force of any wind and is slightly in the shade (south facing house, but a fence/hedge in the way)

Do you know of any such suitable tree?

Hi Serenity.
You have plenty of options, most 'christmas' type trees will grow happily in the conditions you have.
There are loads to choose from, the original christmas tree is (Picea Abies) or Norway spruce. There are also a group of trees called (Abies) or Silver fir, they make a very nice and tidy tree.

Make sure you buy a 'pot grown' tree, as opposed to 'potted'. The potted ones invariably don't have any roots smiley - ok
