Trust me, you can't help. I live with an IT consultant, and it's been confusing the hell out of him. Thanks for the offer though!
I've started my own party in the run-up to the elections

you would be surprised the interesting problems I've seen with my computer. My current stationary computer has the most interesting though
My friend built it from scratch but it keept freesing up for 15 secunds or so at seemingly random intervals. I then installed half life 2 (to see what all the fuss was about), then the problem stopped. Later when I figured I never played the game I uinstalled it and the problem reaapered, installed it again and the problem was gone
oh well my point was that it couldn't hurt running it past me (was that really my point?)
mmmm I still consider myself to much of a newbie to actually bother getting interested in the election

Basically, it's wireless networking problems - it can see the network, and ping all the other computers (by IP address but not by name) - but it can't get on the Internet. I have to use a physical connection - not very practical.
I only heard about the election a couple of days ago, and the idea of starting my own party only came to me a few minutes ago

could it be a DNS problem?
mmmm getting elected = responcibility...... mmm I think I'll do what I always do, get people to do things my way or just ignore them

It's not a DNS problem. My knowledge of DNS is rather sketchy, but that's the thing that allocates the IP address, right? It can pick up an IP address.
Hopefully I won't get elected - my party is the Campaign for No Votes.

it is suposed to be the thing that takes a webaddress and figures out which IP adress it is. That's the reason I thought it might be a DNS problem since you can connect to things if you use their IP numbers but names doesn't get transfered into IPs
oh sounds like my kind of compaign
