Glad we've got that one cleared up 
Anyway, one of them has very kindly consented to be my girlfriend, which is a state of affairs somewhat new and entirely pleasing to me 
Unfortunately, although we were going to go out today, I haven't been able to get hold of her (and I mean that purely in a communicative sense, and not at all a physical one 
). But I'm sure I can wait until Monday to see her again

Yeah, but I am reminded of the story you told me of Sean singing "Joe's got a girlfriend. Joe's got a girlfriend." and then you saying "Yes... I know I do." and then he changed it to "Joe's girlfriend's a kangaroo."

Apparently there was some confusion over the words I used. While I was asking her to be my girlfriend, she was agreeing to going into town together at the weekend
