Hathornefer (ACE) Near miss - isnt that what you'd call a hit Started conversation Apr 25, 2003
There is one ticket barrier on the main concourse that has been out for at least four weeks.
The fruit stall outsude the station remains closed for a third week.
The huge monstrosity that is still being constructed.
Does nothing change?

Hi Hath, ive just read all of your page and i have to say that being of a similar age, (born the same year, 100 miles north of you mind) the contents within it brought a wry smile to my face and an audible utterence. It may just be that there is someone else as warped as myself (no offence intended), as for things not changing - that only relates to things that DO need changing or is that to cynical? I hope that this as also brought that prementioned wry grin to your face, regards .

Hi Bluenose!
Thank you for reading the whole of my space. I started with so little on my page but it grew and grew and now its a massive challenge to get through it all so for you. I think I will attack it at some point soon to make it more managable.
Things are still the same at the station as I said nothing changes and you are right it is only the things that need to that dont change. I don't think its particularly cynical - just realistic.
Oh by the way no offence at all about being warped - I think if you live life you cant help it... its the only way to survive
Wry grin? What go you think

Yes good morning Hath, not to be picky here but could you not put the in the fridge please, much better when chilled. Mind you if we are to have hot it might not be the best mix, possibly play havoc with the old teeth. Well this is the last late night/early morning for myself for a short while as i am off to sunny Skegness, so if you do reply to this message please take no offence if the reply is less than rapid in response. Now i really do need to get some as i am up for the off in just over four hours time, pleasure talking to you as always, i only hope that my epics do not bore you too much, best regards as always .xxx

Hey if exams are stressing you out, give yourself a breather, step back for awhile and then go back to it, i'm sure that you will find it a lot easier to afterwards, or is that what being on here is for? Well i'm just in the process of brewing up a nice myself, as for the trip, we stop at Butlins so there is usually something to do all the time. This time though we went half board and ive put on 1/2 a stone, but i feel heavier, you can eat as much as you want, not really a good idea when the variety is quite good and the meals arnt bad. The journey itself is a pain, 4 hours on a coach, amazing when my mother can drive it in 2 1/2 hours, with a short break (she lives in Ingoldmells - about 1 1/2 miles from the camp). I dont recall asking before, so if i have i guess the old grey matter is failing, so what are you studying? and how longs the course? .xxx

Yes being here is supposedly relief from exam stress though I have to say its not exactly working right now
I am undertaking a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Geography at Birkbeck College (University of London)and am in year 3 (of 4) at university. This years subjects are
Remote sensing and Image Processing
Environmental Modelling
Urban and Regional Environments and Planning
Principles of Geographic Information Systems
Although I have only just started preliminary readings for my thesis at the moment I am hoping it will look at the demographics of The Becontree Estate comparing now to those whom it was originally designed for. That starts as soon as my exams finish
It looks like my next holiday will be when I have finished my final year and I intend celebrating with style if I can so right now I am really envious of your break - sounds like a good time was had by all

Well to be honest geography was never a strong point of mine, and i hated exams, still do to be honest, i feel that course work should make up 80% of the marks, mainly because you have one bad day and game over, it's just to blunt an instrument. do i take it from your smileys on your bullet points that you do not like two of the four too much? At least it's year 3 now, so there is less to go than has already passed. Also, hopefully you will be allowed to do your thesis on Beacontree, because at least then you will be doing something that is of interest to yourself thus making the work a lot easier.
Well you only had to ask and i would of tried sneaking you in my suitcase, and i'm sure i shouldn't put that as it may make a break seem even more appertising.
All i can is stick with it as i'm sure that the outcome off the course will be worth it, and you can look back with relief and a real sense of achievement. So best of luck with it, as i said earlier i wouldn't be of any help to you, regards .xxx

Unfortunately assignments through the year make up anywhere between 0% and 40% of the end result so there is still a long way to go . I am about to turn of my PC til the exams are over - well thats the aim anyway - should get some serious studying in at the end.
Hmmm coulda coped with being in a suitcase for a while for a holiday - ahh well better luck next time

Well you never know, something may come about inbetween terms, so maybe a break away is not out of the question. From the sounds of it i think that you deserve to just kick your shoes off, and have a nice lazy day and dont think about any of it for a while and crack back on tomorrow with a nice refreshed mind. on stand by for you, just in case you are in need of it (relaxation purposes only of course), and hot on reserve whenever needed. All the best to whatever you decide .xxx

I am going to keep my nose to the grindstone right up until my last exam is about to start. Of course I will take breaks and check my my backlog and mail accounts but I am going to try to make up for all the lack of study throughout the year by cramming as much as I can now.
Hmmm sounds like I got that wrong somewhere.
I have promised to go and see a friend for coffee over the summer, and as she is in Cumbria its going to be more than a day trip I fear - especially the way I drive Stop at another friends in Cambridge on the way up and perhaps a friend just outside of Birmingham, Scunthorpe, Carslile...... yup sounds like a sort of holiday to me

All i can say to that is fair play, and why not, make it into a short holiday by all means and have as much fun as possible whilst you are out and about, ready for another concentrated period of study upon your return. Do i take it that you were burning the midnight oil (no not the group) again last night/this morning?
All the best regards .xxx

Hi Blue
I know all the best places to go don't I . Birmingham and Carslile - not the average persons break. Hmmm wonder if there is a Birmingham meet I could crash .
Me - burn the midnight oil - oh yes. I cant wait for it all to be over and some kind of normality return. While I cant sleep then checking up on email and whats happening here seems a good idea (especially as BBC7 is off air at that time of day .)
Hows 'normality'?
