Hunter S.Thompson did the Richard Corey today and I am bereft. To put this in the simplest terms i can,he was my hero from about the age of 15. At one time I wanted to be him, but in my 20's I grew out of that and simply admired him for his tremendous courage and writing chops. The man stomped on the terra, to steal some of his own rhetoric, and we are very much the poorer for his passing.

anyone who does not think he was "the man" when it comes to journalism in the latter half of the 20th century is sadly mistaken.
