Writing that Canadian History book for High Schools

Okay, I'm not actually working on it. But, thanks to you putting the flea in my ear, I am putting together a "query" to send to CBC online's Viewpoint. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a weekly column on Canadian History on the CBC's webpage? Wouldn't it be funny if they said "yes" to me? Wouldn't it be funny to actually get paid for writing? (I guess you know about that.)

I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

I just wanted to say thanks for spurring me on.

As they say over here "Gambate!" which roughly translated means "go for it" I think you'd be very well suited to such an endevour. Refer them to some of the guide work you've done, or cut and paste some of it as examples.
Should we all start lobbying for them to add such a column?

Perhaps I'd better finish that up.

Best of luck. Be sure to follow up in a few days with a letter or phone call. Make them say yes or no, don't just let them not respond.

On a different subject (trying to dodge the oderatormays): I find it very odd that they cut the link in the first post on that thread, gave me big explanations of why, and then left a direct link to an archived "out of context" copy of the video in post seven of the same thread. Do you suppose the first one was a response to a yikes and the yikeser left?

they are pretty easily led by yikesers

completely off topic, I've been largely absent from h2g2 lately aside from the odd bit of lurking mostly because I've been blog hopping on a lot of liberal US political blogs (Daily Kos, Eschaton, etc etc)and watching all the debate coverage. Also been blogging at my blog
