h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I first read Doug adams'hitchiker`s guide to the galaxy'-,.When I was wandering about the world ,I picked it up in Amsterdam;couldn`t put it down,& when I got back to California (usa)I still had to wait for his 2nd book to come out in paperback.I traveled mostly from`79-`81(said I was canadian or from New Zealand).So it was a different world then.I`ve only touched a computer ~ a month ago;but I found BBC, then the 'other sites'.When I saw ( on BBCi): life...the universe...everything-I had to go to the site;hoping against hope it`d be a Doug adams inspired website.It is;in the formal bit,everybody is encouraged to write & post factual articles.The 'underground' hootoo is just that: free form-you`re free to post your thoughts/write a personal journal..Oh,there'a a cool language used ih hootoo-it`s'smily'talk you can create or they`re pages of them filed under 'smilies'.I`m so non-technical,icouldn`t tell you how to cut &paste if my life depended it. an 'official'ace will welcome you soon Neugen

Nice to hear from you... I read Salmon of Doubt today until "Universe" part begins. Hilarious article there about Macintosh -computers. I think we have advanced a little from those days and the troubles Douglas had with all his little Macs and keeping them in sync. It isn't so straight-forward today either, if you have a two computers. There always seems to be stuff missing from the other...

But you said you weren't technical, so no point booring you with this stuff.

Hi Johanna,a really nice guy you should look up is 'Appiration' he does computer tech-support in New Zealand.,but he`s around most days.He definitely knows computers.If you go to the 'who`s online' section of the headings on the 'post to a conversation page'you can see if he`s actually on-line at that moment.You know you can make yourself another nick-name on the 'preferences' site(next to 'who`s on-line').j~z~c`s a sweet man-he volunteers at a local jazz-club Fri.& Sat. nights.at any rate there`re a bunch of aces,who`ll officially welcome you,no doubt.You can even go to owlatron`s site to see the 'thundering herd of 30 aces'.you can find them all listed there.
