Had to come & say hello after seeing your weather posting - you're only down the road from us in RL! (Hmm: am I committing huge H2G2 blunder by assuming that this is Npton UK? Maybe it was also snowing in Nptn Alabama ...)
It was great snow, too, huge flakes, really exciting stuff. Bet the roads are like ice rinks tomorrow though.

Oh yes, Northampton UK...we don't do glamorous locations here! I've only just moved here actually so I've no work yet. Thus I was hoping for 6 ft of snow in the morning - wouldn't affect me too much. It's still freezing though!

So the roads *weren't* like ice-rinks and I had to go to work after all - bah! After all the excitement we didn't even get enough for a snowman. Plus the kids now think that it's practically Christmas, despite my constant explanations that there is actually no link between snow and Christmas.
Anyway, hope Northampton turns out to be everything you want it to be I feel I should be doing a welcome message or something but I didn't grow up round here and hardly know the town really!

Thanks! I've spent so much time up here over the past couple of years that it already felt like a second home. It's very quiet compared to busy South London though!
The snow has gone now...I hope we don't have any more this winter.

I hope we have *loads*. I had a go at sledging for the first time last year (we never had snow when I was a kid) and it was fantastic.
I just love the fact that on H2 you can be arguing with somebody about the merits of popular music in one place and politely discussing the weather with them somewhere else.
Or be being slightly rude about their shopping list methods ... but *adds hastily* I do like all the Facts of Life you've come up with.
It is very quiet up here. When I visited London a few years ago for the first time in ages (and I used to work there many many years ago, I'm not really a country bumpkin) I was all "Ooh - look at that aeroplane!" and "Goodness, what a lot of different shops".

Yes, snow's okay in small doses. If it stays around longer than a week then it gets a bit annoying. Actually I wouldn't mind seeing some more this winter because it's funny watching the dogs in the snow. And it's also funny (if you're that way inclined) to make a snowball and throw it for the dogs then watch them frantically digging through snow trying to find the 'ball'. Bless 'em.
I'm having one of my listy phases at the moment...lists on here, 'to do' lists in RL (otherwise known as 'procrastination list'). Living an idiosyncratic existence I'm always fearful of my 'Facts of Life' being only applicable to me...
Hmmmm, time to make up some more.

But it was wonderful ... I got to sledge again !
The snow we had a few weeks ago was awful though - worst drive home ever, although I only passed *one* car in a ditch.
