A girl after my own heart - the real ale bit. Sadly these days my forays to the pub are only weekly and then to the same pub so the ale, although real, is limited, it's a tied house.

It is such wonderful stuff. To think that a couple of years ago I wouldn't even touch the stuff .

Too many pubs don't serve a good pint. I am very fortunate in that I live approxmately a five minute's walk from the best pub in Nottingham. There were seven real ales on tap there yesterday . Unfortunately my housemate's aren't ale drinkers so I only end up going to the pub when I'm out with my rambling friends. However, two pub trips a week is nothing to complain about .

Before my drinking days were curtailed, I had the same problem, not enough good pubs serving decent ale. Most of them cater for the masses who want fizzy muck and lager. I could give them tons of beer they could drink for better taste and be wobbly at the end of it - I have been in my time.

There weren't any pubs serving a good pint around when I became old enough to drink the stuff so ended up with larger and fizzy muck, but I can't stand either anymore. Too sweet
