My weekend was alright - better than working, anyway!
I feel like a holiday - which is a bit pathetic only six weeks after I last had one! My next leave is in mid March, which I'm already looking forward to far too much.
I sat on watched 'Oceans Eleven' on Sunday evening, and the wind was so noisy that I had to put the subtitles on in order to follow the dialogue of the film! The high winds have really only settled down today. Poor old Chris is well fed up to be off work this week with such rotten weather - especially when he should have been in Portugal.
So, did you get anything nice for Valentine's Day? Chris got me a rather nice card, which read 'Love is ... you and me'. Ahhhh

February does tend to drag a bit. Going on holiday in March as well , I've got to introduce Peter to a few mountains ready for the trip in June either to Austria or the Spanish pyrannies, which I think I've spelt wrong.
Saturday was very windy but they started to die down on Sunday over here. Went out breifly on Saturday but we decided it was too cold and windy and watched Amelie instead.
Yes, a card, a chocolate heart, some truffles and a lovely blue dress .

Gosh, you really got spoilt for Valentine's didn't you? I'm impressed.
I'm already bored at work this morning, and it's only twenty-past nine. Still, my boss is out all morning so at least I can be bored in peace.
I don't know what I'm doing on my week off yet. My Dad is 60 that week, so a visit to Lincolnshire will be involved, but apart from that I've nothing planned yet. I'd like to discuss all this years holiday arrangements with Chris, but he's still smarting from his failure to get to Portugal this week, so holidays are somewhat off the agenda at the moment.

Yes, had a very good time actually . We cooked a meal instead of going out as well, but dressed up for it anyway, which was fun
Thursdays are a full day of lectures for me. At 9.20 I was learning how most of the UK's sulphur problem actually comes from shipping
Probably going camping but haven't really decided yet, or even where, but quite possibly the Lakes or Cheviots .

Might it not be a bit nippy to be camping in the Lakes in March? Or perhaps not if you're taking a nice warm boyfriend with you
.
I've run out of work again, but at least I had something to do this morning. I'm glad it's nearly the weekend (less than three-and-a-half hours until home-time ). The weather forecast suggests it will snow over the weekend so there is much speculation that we might get an extra day off on Monday. Fat chance!
Hope you have a nice weekend.

I'm hoping that the nice warm boyfriend will help there , plus we can bring a duvet or two just to make sure. It's quite a novelty for me for there to be a car and concequently the oppertunity to take more than I can carry
Well I hope you do get that extra day, we might get snow on Monday or Tuesday over here
You too, weekend should be reasonable but there's plenty of coursework to do

Well, no snow here but apparently there was quite a heavy fall about 30 miles north of hear. We've had the odd snow shower, but it's not even that cold so it's melting before it has hit the ground. Chris got up before me yesterday and announced that everywhere was white, but then he put on his glasses and realised that there was only the merest covering of snow (and it melted within half-an-hour anyway).
I'm bored at work again and Mrs Boss is about so it is difficult to be on here too much. I've got an Assessment Board to go to later which might kill half an hour. If we'd had the snow they forecast, I could be at home doing something constructive like reading a book.

Had snow here, but only for about 5 minutes, no fair
Oh dear, spent most the day at home reading a book myself . Would be good except that it was on indoor air pollution
.

We've had a bit of snow, but not enough to close the college. I went on a 'Fire Awareness Training' event this morning, at the end of which we went out into the car park to have a go at using some fire extinguishers. Of course, as soon as we got out there it snowed like the clappers! Still, it beat being sat at my desk, bored stiff like I have been for most of the week.
Mrs Boss is out at the moment, so rather than do the teeny little bit of work I've got, I thought I'd hootoo for a while. I'd like to order some flowers for my Mum for Mothers Day, but Flying Flowers Website seems not to be working properly. I could always phone the order through, but that rather defeats the object of their having a website really.
As there has been nowt much worth watching on the telly-box this week, I've been reading my Bill Bryson book quite a lot. This week, amongst other things I have learnt about Plate Tectonics and volcanos (all stuff I'm sure you are an expert in). Last night I read a fascinating chapter about Yellow Stone Park in the USA - it sounds both beautiful and interesting in equal measures and I want to go there right now!
'Indoor Air Pollution' does not sound like a particularly interesting topic - how is that related to geology?

Typical. Had some snow here, but it melted by lunch time
.
I haven't sorted anything for Mother's Day yet . I must remember to send something soon *puts note on calendar*. I'm in Bangor of all places that weekend too and PSG's visiting for the few days before that, so if I don't send something soon I'll just forget
Yellowstone Park does sound good from all I've read about it.
My degree's environmental science , which includes everything from geology to avian biology.

We had a bit more snow here yesterday - which was a surprise because it wasn't forecast. Of course, the sun came out and melted most of it fairly quickly. Yesterday afternoon, Chris had this brilliant idea that we should go for a walk by the sea at Felixstowe. It was f-f-f-f-f-freezing!. There was an icy wind blowing in off the sea
. It is cold and bright and frosty today, but no freezing wind, thank goodness!
I'm glad you mentioned Mothers Day - I need to check and make sure that Flying Flowers have actually processed my order. And I need to send a card.
It's an odd coincidence that, having read something about Yellow Stone Park last week, the BBC have since started advertising a programme called 'Supervolcano', which appears to be a drama about what might happen if the world's biggest volcano blew (and as Yellow Stone is pretty much one vast volcano, I think that is where the programme will be set). I probably wont bother to watch though - it sounds like rubbish.
Hope you had a nice weekend.

I was in Bakewell yesterday , there was loads of snow on the hills
, I got to have a long play
. Although there was snow, there was hardly any wind and lots of sun, so it didn't feel cold at all
.
I still haven't sent anything , I must sort that *writes post-it note and sticks it to computer*
Oh dear that does sound somewhat trashy
. There was an entry on the front page shortly afterwards on Yellowstone too, though I didn't have a chance to read it.
I had a brilliant weekend thanks

Derbyshire in the snow sounds very scenic. I'm sure it was nicer than f-f-f-f-Felixstowe
.
I saw your journal about having loads of coursework. I hope it's going OK.

It was, and very bright .
It is, I just finished another piece and now having a late lunch . I should be able to get it all done, but yesterday I kept getting distracted
. It's amazing what can seem interesting when there's a lot to do

Ah, now this sounds like 'washing-up avoidance syndrome', although in your case it's more 'coursework avoidance'. I'm amazed at how fascinating tacky soap operas become when there is a pile of dishes in the kitchen needing my attention.
I'm sure you'll get it all done.

It's amazing how tidy the house gets at the start of revision time
It's all going slowly but surely . Hope you had a good weekend

Another very quiet weekend for us. The weather was just awful - when it wasn't snowing it was raining. Consequently, I only went out of the house to go to the hairdressers and the supermarket.
Mrs Boss is away again this week, so work is pretty quiet. I'm on annual leave myself next week, which I'm looking forward to.

I got lovely sunshine, and I was in North Wales
. Can't wait for the photos to come up, the mountains were looking lovely and snow-capped.
Ooooh, still two weeks of term left for me (fortunately, still some work to do) and then I'm off to see Peter .
I'm going to the Pyranees! (Sorry, I'm just very excited, I've never even been on a plane before and now I've tickets for the flight and so has Peter and my rambing friends
)

The Pyranees? Gosh, that is exciting. I'll be spending a couple of days in Lincolnshire on my week off. Not quite the same, is it?
It's a lot flatter for a start!
I hope you enjoy flying
Your photos from Wales sound lovely. I'm dying to go somewhere and take some nice photographs with my swanky digital camera (and I've still got film to use in my trusty old 35 mm camera too).
I'm really bored at work today - roll on the weekend.

Not going until June though, was a lot cheaper to get the tickets now . I need a new passport though and my old one is missing. I'm having great trouble filling in the form, it expired years ago, long before it was lost but apparently I was meant to report it to the police
Some of other people's photos are up http://www.su.nottingham.ac.uk/~ramsoc/photopages/bangor05_db.htm but also include the ones of the president in a purple thong.. the ones of the mountains are good though and there're a couple of me in my part of the committee entertainment .
I actually had a very interesting lecture. Quite scary though, evolution due to climate change is happening already
