Hello, Mrs Lady! It seems ages since I last bumped into you in cyberspace. I can't remember the last time I e-mailed you either.

Your Personal Space is almost a website in itself, by the way.

Anyway, how are you? When did you start back at Uni?

With the demise of BotF, I have defected to Get Writing and I am rather enjoying it. I've only managed to post one piece of work myself, but I have found hours of entertainment reading other peoples stuff. If you have the patience to trawl through everything in the Review Circle, there is some good stuff on there. I have recently discovered how to use the 'friends' list on Get Writing, so I shall now add you to my list.

I was quite busy at work for a couple of months, but in the past fortnight everything has just tailed off again. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because it gives me more time to explore Get Writing.
My boss is out at the moment, so I am taking advantage of that fact and seeing what new and exciting things I can discover on H2G2 and Get Writing. smiley - surfer

Bye for now.

I'm not sure either, I got you're emails but have had huge problems with the internet and hadn't yet had managed to stay on long enough to reply smiley - sorry

I just (as in a few minutes ago) fixed the internet connection so I can get busy writing smiley - biggrin

My site is the result of avoiding sevel essays smiley - blush, about the only thing I've done recently is change the year I'm in from 1st to second.

I'm back at uni now and currently attempting to write a report but as so many other people are doing the same thing it's hard to get any books out from the library. Still, it's getting written even if slowly.

The project's due in next Friday so hopefuly after that there'll be plenty of time to read through some of the Get Writing stuff. smiley - biggrin

Whatever did we do with ourselves before we had the Internet? smiley - biggrin
The thing I like about the BBC sites is that they are so easy to dip in and out of so I can have the browser open while I am working. It surprises me sometimes how much work I get done while surfing the net. smiley - surfer
Mind you, I am experiencing some problems with Get Writing & H2G2 at the moment – it took me fifteen minutes and four attempts to post this reply because I kept getting messages asking me to sign in again or saying that the page didn’t exist.

My boyfriend came home from playing snooker last night and he was saying, "Did you watch the football (as if that was at all likely), did you watch the programme about the police? Did you watch this, did you watch that?" No, I was trying to re-write a story and failing miserably, as well as catching up on some e-mails. I didn't watch any telly at all. I very rarely watch TV if Chris is out, I'd rather switch off my television set and go and do something less boring instead.
I redecorated our lounge a couple of weeks ago and as our only TV point is in there, we could not watch television for about three days. That didn't bother me in the slightest, but Chris had a real crisis about it.

The only downside of PC addiction for me at the moment is that I fell downstairs about 10 days ago and bruised the base of my spine, so I can't sit down for very long.

Anyway, I had better go and do something useful.
Good luck writing your report.

I keep being signed out as well, problems with SSO at a guess. smiley - sadface

I rarely watch TV any more, even when I could use the net, I normaly did something else instead. It doesn't really seem woth the effort of watching.

Ouch that can't be nice smiley - bruised. Hope it get's better soon smiley - cheerup.

Thanks smiley - ta, I really ought to draw a few more graphs myself. smiley - groan

I complained to the Editors yesterday and Emily says that the technical people are trying to sort things out. It is still very slow this morning, but at least my portfolio hasn't disappeared yet today!

I guess it will take a while iron out the technical problems. At least it means I get more work done...smiley - smiley

Let’s hope it doesn’t take them too long to get things running more smoothly. I think that a lot of people will loose interest in the DNA sites if they don’t work properly. It’s still very slow today – a bit like my workload. It’s only 10 o’clock and I have already run out of things to do.

Argh, wish I'd run out of things to do smiley - wah.

Ah well, if I ever get the project finished in time for the deadline next week then I'll get a couple of weeks with nothing to do outside lectures other than filing my notes. smiley - biggrin

I have to admit, I am starting to get bored. I keep reminding myself that I have had much worse jobs than this but I am getting fed up with it now. I wanted something with less aggro, but I'd like to have some stimulation!

I've got a large student admin job to do on Wednesday, so at least I won't be bored for the whole week, but I haven't got a great deal to do today. My boss is on holiday from tomorrow for the rest of the week so I ought to try and use that time to try and write something, but I'm not feeling very inspired at the moment.

I've just found out that there's another essay due in the week after the project so I've got a lot to do yet..

Being bored for more than a few minutes I find, well, dull. smiley - erm The holidays were like that; certainly dragged. smiley - sadface I prefer it when things are challenging, as long as there's still enough time free for myself. smiley - smiley

If I am at home with nothing to do, I love it! I can always find a household job or I can read or listen to music, play about on the PC, watch telly or just day dream. I'm never bored at home. Work is a different matter.

I've had one or two things to do today, so it has not been too bad and I know I've got stuff to do tomorrow, so hopefully the days won't drag too much. Sometimes I really do feel that I'm wasting my life in this particular job. smiley - yawn I plan to 'phone my brother this week and he will say "Why don't you look for another job?" and I will reply, "Because I'm a lazy cow." If things don't pick up, I will have to look for something else, but I've only been here just over a year and it doesn't look good on one's CV to keep chopping and changing. Including this job, I've had eight full time jobs in 20 years - is that a lot? I did four years at IFF and seven-and-a-half years at Reavell's, so you can tell I didn't spend too much time in the other six!

I had a look on the OU website yesterday and if I could have started immediately on their literature degree, I would have! Unfortunately, the next start date for the introductory course I would need to start with is not until March 2004. smiley - sadface Can I maintain my motivation until then? Unlikely. I want to move house in the spring so I can see me waiting until summer or autumn before I take on any studying.

I hope your work is going well today. I've only got half an hour left until I go home, so I think I shall go and look on the TOTP2 website.

Bye for now.

If my family hadn't been away and my friends had been in visiting distance then the holidays wouldn't have dragged. Generally I don't get bored at home. smiley - smiley

8 does seem quite a few but then I wouldn't really know. smiley - smiley I guess there's no point in not looking for some more challenging work however. smiley - erm

A March start is quite late smiley - weird, I'd have thought courses would start around February.

Work's going alright, just slowly, and Excel is driving me mad smiley - steamsmiley - headhurts

Technology can be frustrating sometimes, can't it?

I've got some bits and bobs to do today so I have been busy all morning. I've got some letters to write in a moment.

There are graduation ceremony's today and tomorrow at the college, so the corridors are thronging with people. I might have to get involved with a little reception thing tomorrow morning, which will keep me out of trouble for another hour or so.

Is it wet where you are? It's pouring with rain here. This is the sort of dark, miserable day when I would really rather like to be sat by the fire reading a book.

Anyway, must get on. Chat soon.

Well, it was raining, and I took my umbrella out and inevitably it stopped. smiley - laugh I ended up carrying it around all evening until I finally got home at 1.30.

Well, I'm off to Snowdopnia for the weekend, and if it doesn't rain I'll be very suprised. smiley - biggrin

I really ought to get back to writing about caseless caddis flies. smiley - sadface Hope you have a good weekend smiley - smileysmiley - run

I have it on good authority that I went to Snowdonia as a small child, but I have no memory of it. I would like to visit Wales and I hope to persuade Chris to go there one of these years.

Anyway, hope you get all your work finished and have a lovely weekend.

The time on your last post suggests that you wrote it in the middle of the night. No wonder you're tired!

I went out for a lovely meal with my boyfriend on Saturday night to celebrate the fact that we have been together for ten years. Then I spent a very large part of yesterday just writing at the PC, so I've had a nice weekend too.

I hope you didn't get too wet in Wales.

Well, about 11pm. Didn't get back until after 10.

Great smiley - biggrin. I went out for dinner on Saturday as well, but the only reason there was because it was cold and wet and I didn't feel like cooking. smiley - laugh

Well, it was very wet, but I'd be shocked if it hadn't rained. smiley - smiley
