I learnt the hard way (took ages too 
), but if you want to make a colourful page, then here's how to cheat..
If you're on a personal space, replace the 'U' in the URL with 'testuserpage', or if it's an article replace the 'A' with 'test'.
It'll show you all the code, and then you can just copy it 
A690518 is a good place to start for Guide ML.

If you get stuck, then say and I'll sort the code out. It can be quite a pain at times 
, make a mistake and it's very hard to find exactly where the mistake is.
