Hi there! Welcome to the site! You probably wander what I'm on about but you should have been welcomed when you first 'joined' h2g2! I'm an ACE or assistant community editor here and its part of my job to greet new folks and make them feel at home. I noticed you've been posting already and so you're well at home. Those ruthless Radio4 people!
Anyway....see you've got the hang of smileys - grand. You've also found the journal space - all very self expanatory. There's not a great deal more you need to know except that you may be interested in our GuideML if you ever fancy writing a guide entry (go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/GuideML-Clinic). Thanks for the welcome. 
So far I haven't experienced too many problems. Might try my hand at an entry soon. Just as soon as I can't decide what to write about.
A lot of the topics I have a bit of knowledge about have already been covered.
