Hello, Allo Allo. Now you've activated your space, an ACE should be along in a while to officially welcome you to the site. They should be able to answer any questions you might have. While I know you joined for the franglais thread, there's an awful lot more to the site which is well worth having a look at.
There's the edited Guide, which is a series of entries on a huge variety of topics, all written by members of the site (which is why we are called researchers), non edited entries for things not suitable for the Edited guide on an even huger variety of topics as well as a wide range of discussion forums. You can find links to a good selection of the things you can find on h2g2 on the front page, which you can access by clicking the link on the left hand side of the page.
Anyway, an ACE will probably repeat most of this so I'll leave it there. Enjoy and see you round the franglais thread
