I hope you get your heat working again. Ours is pretty reliable unless a storm pulls down the power lines. That hasn't happened in a while. Good thing: it was -10 degrees this morning (-23 Centigrade).
Whereabouts in Northern England are you? I'm in a small university town that's supposedly named after Oxford, England and laid out in similar fashion. It was meant to be a bit of "civilization" in what what still wilderness in the early 1800's. I'm trying to put together a small article to post (our Oxford can be a bit dull unless the students get crazy).

I'm in a small town called Hexham, it's nowhere near Oxford, England. It's an old abbey town built at the meeting points of the north and south tyne. How big is small for you? Hexham has a population of about 12thou. Big enough to meet people from here anywhere in europe but small enough that nobody has ever herd of it.
