Our little election (if anyone is interested)

I must say that the results of our little Provincial election here in my riding were very, very satisfying. Not only did our senior citizen, Hindu, socialist get over 60% of the vote, but the Green Party managed to come in fourth behind the three old guard parties and ahead of both the new right wing party and the ancient party that ruled the province without interuption from 1935 to 1971. As well, the party that has governed since 1971 lost its majority in the popular vote as well as thirteen seats. This loss gave the opposition more than a quarter of the seats in the Legislature. For virtually the first time in the history of the province, we will have a responsible government held accountable by a reasonable opposition.
