Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents.

I saw you mentioned that on your space - there's actually a few of us around h2g2 - and lots of musicians. smiley - biggrin

Anyway, I stopped by because of that - but I also want to officially welcome you to h2g2! I'm an ACE, or assistant community editor, and we ACEs go around greeting people and helping them find their feet (normally attached to the end of their legs, but not always). Unfortunately, we normally have to give out lots of links to important places, so I'm sorry, but this is good for you...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Aces - the ACE homepage. If I'm not around, there's bunches of other ACEs here that can help you out. smiley - smiley

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Gurus - the Guru homepage. H2G2 gurus are the techie geniuses of the site - if you have a problem of any kind, let them know and they can likely set you aright. smiley - ok

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Askh2g2 - for all other questions. This is the most popular bunch of forums on h2g2, and they cover all types of topics.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/GuideML-Clinic - the GuideML Clinic big surprise). GuideML is the markup language of the Guide, and though it's a lot like HTML in some ways, there's a lot of special modifications that work on this site. Go there to learn all about it. smiley - smiley

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Smiley - Smileys are all over the place here, and we pride ourselves on having an absurdly large number of them. smiley - ghostsmiley - snowballsmiley - rocketsmiley - rosesmiley - zen

There's more - but I'll wait till you're more settled in to inflict them on you.smiley - winkeye

Anyway - if you should ever need anything - a friend to talk to, someone to answer questions - just leave me a note, either by replying to this message or on my personal space (U50994). I hope you enjoy your time here - I've vastly enjoyed the more than three years I've been a researcher. smiley - biggrin

Sabra Girl

Hi Amy!
I'm very happy to hear from a friendly h2g2 member. Sorry that this answer is a little belated. (I'm not very consistent about checking up on this site)
My friend tells me that you are one of the best ACEs on this site! I'm very glad that I lucked out.
Thank you for offering your help.

-Rachael

Don't worry about having a belated answer - not everyone here stays online nearly so much as I do.

I'm one of the best ACEs? smiley - blush Surely not. smiley - winkeye

And I'm always around for questioning - just let me know. smiley - smiley
