MadHamish : Off in the real world! Started conversation Jun 20, 2003
Was just "crusin" the area, saw that your light was on, so I thought I'd say "G'day!" It seems that being Australian means that you are obligated to say very "Aussie" things on demand when overseas. In the US I was detained in a hairdresser's shop for three hours while they pressed me for "Australianisms". Bizzarre!(I did get a free hair cut though!) In Europe, most women I met wanted to sleep with,ONLY,when I spoke and they discovered my accent! In Canada, they couldn't give a stuff(which was nice) and in the UK, I was subjected to endless Kylie Minogue, and Dame Edna references!
In Alaska I was installed at the local bar as some sort of travelling soothsayer! (Tell us about the outside world, all we see is snow!) Anyway, have a lovely day.....Oh and how BIG are your eyes?

Mad! G`day to you~when I was wandering about the world,we went thru Australia,fr.New Zealand to Bali-wise.You`re 12 hrs ahead of me?It`s 7:56AM here??Gary,pythonfan..he s to .Australia has some lovely beaches,&,when I was there-`80-81-.The difference was that the attitude was much more relaxed/not as full-of-himself as american`s get.
do I know what be-ing from a different country`s about.We were never fr. the usa.I`d say Canadian,New Zealand,Australian--NOT American.
I could listen to a British accent all day!
G'day

Well, just to compare, I have been told that my eyes have the dark brown of a stained hard-wood with tiny green specks through them.
So now you know as well.
I have seen a little bit of the world(probably too much) and I have always found it great to come home. We "down under" just don't seemed to get wound up like most Northerners do! Still, I have met great folk from all over the world.(Except Leo DiCaprio, what a wanker!)

Sure did!! I really reacted to the type of personality each different country grew.It seems to me that the more room a person has,the more likely it is that he/she will be friendly.I HATED India.Really.I was knocked down & run over by an ox-cart! Now that`s a different memory.I`m glad you`re happy to be in Australia! That`s a conclusion to draw fr. yr. travels.Me?? New Zealand;Appirition says they need teachers,& cops:the cops they wisely import fr. Britin, but teaching!?! That`s the carrear I ran away from! Mom & Dad both taught,so I know full well the dedication teaching demands from you--& the lack of pay.
G'day

Ahhh! Both my parents are teachers as well. I resisted the push(and pull) to follow the genetic programming. The older I get the more of the "Teacher" in me I see! Wierd really, I'm nothin like my folks!
