Hi Neugan!
Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE) Started conversation Feb 9, 2003
Thought I'd stop by... Have a mufflewhump!
I could tell that I was about ready to take over that thread, on the Rolling Meetup page So I thought I'd move over here... If you've had a chance to look at the Garlic meet page, I got what could either be a brilliant idea, or else the result of preggie-brain-rot (that's my excuse if the idea sounds remarkably dumb) You've said many many times that you've quite a bit of property... Do you think that maybe, for accomadation, those that go to the meet could camp there? Be a lot cheaper than a hotel... And, unlike Pennsylvania (where I got to go for a meet last summer--I can get you the links to my accounts of it, if you like) it won't be so hot that camping is, in and of itself, a stupid idea... I'm just not sure if you want all of us at your place (or all of them if I can't go because that's when PaperBaby decides to make a grand entrance) If this sounds good, maybe you could start a thread on the Garilc meet page, offering? Or else I could start a thread and give you the link to it, and then you could offer (again, only if it sounds like a good idea to you)?

Thanks!
*realizes that it looks like she's actually organizing things*
And Tom (hubbie) and I actually already have a tent, though I don't know how practical that would be with a newborn I'll add the info to the meet page!

Hi dear-I`m musing changing my nickname to Neugan because there`s another Neugen.Kea knew about it~ The house has 1,900sq.ft.-granted there`s a family of 5 in the other bedroom(must get rid of them!)but there`s a large living-room,covered w/kids toys-so maybe you could stay inside w/child.It actually is warmer outside all to often.Living in a redwood forest can be a bit chilly-but the view is fantastic! Don't worry about there being another person with your name--there's 2 other Amys that are active, and I keep looking for more...
Inside the house probably would be better... Of course, if we can come, we can always let someone else use our tent And I know redwood weather--lived in Crescent City for 4 years, and Arcata for 2 1/2... Likely warmer down in Carmel...

I'm *so* glad you're so enthused about this, and that I actually decided to bite the bullet, get up the guts, and ask... Free accomadation should make it easier for a lot of people to come (quite a few of the folks that I went around and fetched are college students, and we both know what *that's* like, money-wise!) Looks like, counting the definates and the firm maybes, that you could have at least a dozen people there And not everyone's responded to my question about if they're actually coming or not...

Well, I'm certainly looking forward to it! Just hope I deliver on time, because I don't particularly want to risk going into labor 4 hours away from home...

Yes,it`s really sad that we must relay on 'health groups'to take care of a simple(or not) hospital visit! I wish I lived in Canada~ Neug-

Yeah... And before I got to hear stories about the NHS (National Health Service--in the UK) I would have thought the UK had a good system...
I can't wait to see the look on njan's face when he sees a redwood for the first time

If some kind soul would tell G how to transfer pictures from a floppy disc to this thingy-he`d have an idea that tall is an understatement-&,as I`ve said these trees are old growth-really oak trees are delightful to climb! Redwoods are delightfull to admire-ah,G points out that the bark shreads as you attempt to climb one. With harness & a wraparound thingy of some sort-it shouldn`t be impossible, but G scoffed at the idea of a mere 40 meter poplar. tree Neugan

Tell G to stick the pictures in an online album (yahoo and MSN both have free ones--may be others) and then you can just give people the address...
