One Big Weekend!

This weekend was brilliant, the best I'va had in a long time smiley - biggrin

On friday night Charlotte travelled for three and a half hours to come and see me. She didn't get here until gone 2200, so we didn't do much that night- she met my parents (She's met them before, but not for long), my cat, my dog and my wabbit, and we watched Bo Selecta and went to bed. We slept at my grandparents' house as they were away.

On saturday we lazed around the house, played with the aminals etc... she played on the piano. She maintains she's no good, but she's much better than any of the rest of us!
Mum made lots of groovy food items and we had a barbecus/chilli dinner up the garden with some exotic deserts that my mum likes to make.

Today we went up to Leicester on the train to see Radio 1's One Big Sunday event. On the whole, it wasn't my kind of music (I can tell all my mates that I've seen Busted play live...) but it was worth it to see Electric Six: Before today, I'd only heard Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar, but on the train I listened to Charlotte's copy of their album and thought it was pretty good. In their set they played Danger! High Voltage, then Gay Bar, and finally they played... wait for it... a cover of Queen's Radio Ga Ga! That sold it once and for all- a cover of a Queen number, and a very acceptable one at that.
Charlotte and I are now looking at going to see them in concert.
Dick Valentine has to be the thrid coolest guy in the whole entire world, after Brian May, and, of course, yours truly smiley - winkeye

I don't like Big Brovas, Busted were entertaining even if they're not completely my type of music, and I would even say they're actually pretty talented. I've seen Daniel Beddingfield in a new light now- I'm still not a fan of his music, but he really handled the generator failures very well- I was very impressed with the way he handled it and the crowd.
I ca't really remember the other people that played- none of them were people I was interested in before, and they certainly didn't change my mind today.

But Electric Six I was very impressed with! What a stage presence, and easily identifiable charisma. I got the impression that when given full reign over a concert they put on a hullva show!

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend spent with my bunnyhunch, with only one complaint: It just didn't last long enough smiley - cry. My whole family love her to bits already- she was an instant hit (even if my Grandmother did catch us 'at it' (her words, not mine, and wholly inaccurate) on the livingroom sofa), and everyone's said she's much more than welcome to come again any time she wants to. I won't even go into the attractive force she had on teh various animals in our home menagerie! I really can't see why she's so down about herself! She's my sweetie :-$

One of those days...

A guy ordered a bottle of orange juice today. I asked if he wanted a glass, as you're supposed to when someone orders such a thing and you're working behind the bar in a pub. He said he would like a glass please, so I tried to ask him if he wanted ice. It came out as "Would you like some arse?"
I couldn't stop laughing.

At another point I poured myself a lemonade, took a mouthful and started hiccuping whilst trying to serve drinks.

On a brighter note, my Velvet Goldmine soundtrack CD came today! Woohoo!!! That was quick, I only ordered it a couple of days ago!

O.k, Tom's final thoughts:
- "ice" + "glass" = "arse"
- Don't drink while on duty. Especially not lemonade.

Dreamjournal

Do you have weird dreams, and you'd like to know what they mean?

My girlfriend found this website called dreamjournal.com where you can type out your dreams and leave them for otehr people to look at and offer interpretations. When you initially enter your dream, there is a basic 'reading' done based on the words that feature in your journal. It's pretty cool (says sad weirdo me).

If you want to have a look at my dreamjournal for an example, take a look here: http://www.dreamjournal.org/dj/index.cfm?do=getjournal&username=TemporalBandit
Ifyou decide to join, let me know your username, it's interesting and comforting to find out that otehr people's dreams are as strange as mine!

Bye for now!

Does anyone have a Livejournal account? If you do, let me know, and maybe we can add each other to our Friends lists- I haven't been on forvery long, and I don't have many friends on it yet smiley - sadface

I noticed there are at least 105 H2G2 users with lj accounts, but I didn't recognise any of the names.
