Hi there
Looks like I've been assigned by Tube - by inferior editor - to polish your piece 'Northern Exposure'. You can see the changes I'm proposing at A2124541.
Basically, the difference is that I have added the UnderGuide blob, the word (UG) to the title and have changed some of the introductory bits to subheaders. Does that all look okay to you?
Very funny stuff too. Apparently, Jimster and Natalie (two of hootoo's Northerner italics) even liked it! And I'm happy to report that I understood all of the jokes, even though I'm on this side of the pond. It's the southerners we make fun of over here!

Really? How did New Orleans treat you?
If you ever get a chance, you should visit Charleston (I'm guessing you didn't, based on the route from NO to Nashville). It's a nice town. I was at a wedding there just last year.

New Orleans was fab! We were there for mardi gras...crazy...mind bogglingly crazy! Memphis was bizarre but Ravager loved the mandatory Gracelands tour...I couldn't believe the fact that when Elvis built it there was a car lot opposite...there's posh! We did the whole tourist bit, Beale street, Sun studios the trolley car ride. It was Ravager's muso holiday. I loved the bayou but it is not good to be poor there.
We stopped off in Madison county not the famous one unfortunately!
Nashville was the grand old oprey and the even grander grand new oprey and we stayed in the Railway hotel which was just so cool, with all the original signs for places one has always read about and can't even attempt to spell. Then a quick flight to New York....freezing in feb. Loved it though. Think NY is a three day or go to work there for a year kind of place. Made him take me for a horse ride in central park, did the Statton island ferry and spent an evening with friends in Gramercy park. Didn't do the tourist bits so much there but would like to go back one day. Spent a morning checking out the flowers in soho and definitely prefer Maceys to Bloomingdales! You really do feel as though you are on the edge of the world in NY though...and that river...shivers ...so cold!

New York's a fine town! I'd go in the autumn next time you go, though. The weather tends to be less moody then.
There's lots of things to do in NYC! The tourist thing is a big part of it, but shopping and other sorts of fun things are abundant.
Which river are you talking about? Never touch the East river, just the Hudson!
I don't know so much about Memphis or Nashville. Only been to Tennessee for a family reunion once or twice. Not so sure I'm keen on going back (this is north Tennessee - no cities, just hillbillies!)
