What the hell did you wrap it in? Nuclear infused rubber?

I got the CD's this morning - had a problem opening it...and then was scarred for life by the cheeky chirpy snowman imprinted on the inside.
Anyway...you over did yourself, so now I have to make *effort* now... Not that I wasn't before...it's just...um Japanese released tracks are excellent.
Thankyou!
So once I have finished posting on here, I'm off to continue the assembling...

The reason for that was that I posted a Xmas present to VIP the other week and when I took it to the post office they complained that it was wrapped too lightly, as I had just put normal Xmas wrapping paper around it. Then to counter that they put big ugly brown tape around it, kinda spoiling the Christmassy effect.
So I decided, with the next thing I send through the post - which was the CDs to you - I was going to make damn sure they were wrapped well! Hence the layers upon layers of tightly bound PVC tape
Anyway, glad you liked them!

I've got them on permanent rotation on my CD player now. Done the job perfectly - I had a feeling the lack of new music was the cause of my recent slump in writing!
I have a few printed out and an envelope ready and everything. I'm just not happy with any of them. Problem is, I always think I have a high standard & lots of stuff to send to people - then it turns out neither of my thoughts are true. Artistic dissatisfaction maybe? I'll get sick of seeing it all on my desk in a day or so and whack it all together and send it.
And if you like them, then I am willing to send you more for more music
But um...the PVC tape stuff was HELL to open. I shall be prepared next time with my little craft knife

Don't worry about it .. people often find 'flaws' in their own work that others don't notice at all. There is this notion of 'perfection' that is only defined by that it is impossible to reach.

*Flaws* is an understatement. I know all of the cliches - it's just a little hard to believe in them!!!

Hey-hey. Can I ask some writing-related advice of you, please?

Ooh, you sound a bit reluctant ... maybe I shouldn't have asked ...
Ok I was just wondering, how does one generally go about writing poetry in order to get an effect? Like, is there a format or general style or something? Or ... ok basically I'm trying to write a little verse for someone and I haven't got a clue Just wondered if I could pick your brains for a general approach!

Not reluctant. Just not been asked that before!!
Well. Hmm. *thinks* It's usually best to wait until you catch upon a line in your head. Then write it down and build around it. If that makes sense. Don't force anything out. Sometimes I start with a word, sometimes with a sentence. But the building around it is the key thing - let it "grow", so to speak.

Thanks for your insight .. hmm .. I'll give that approach a try!
So far I've managed to stare at a bit of paper and draw disturbing pictures of angry demons on it. Not really what I had in mind but hey.

*angry demons*
I also almost have Allen Ginsberg poetry around for inspiration too. Haven't found any other poetry with that sense of freedom and with such great words. Might be worth having a browse through some poetry books? Remember : no piece of creativity is finished. Take what you need to get along.

Ha, that wasn't a metaphor for anything, mind ..
I may do that, not that I'd know where to look! But that's the fun of browsing, I guess. Hmm .. as long as I don't copy anything. And don't end up writing something which sounds cliched and boring. Ok I'm just rambling now.
Yes .. so .. cheers, you have given me some hope

Oh, hasn't every household got at least *one* compilation of poetry in it? I have about six; none of which I bought myself.
Maybe they reproduce?
Good luck anyway!

That is a bizarre image .. two poetry books banging away, sweating ink and murmuring sweet verse to each other while doing so ..

Hey, I tried accessing h2g2 from a digibox last night (they have Telewest and PACE printed on the front ..?) - it totally sucked. The thing almost got the page loaded in, and then hung. None of the buttons responded, so we had to flick the power cable out and in again. It was rather disappointing - I pity your restricted web browsing experience!
