This has remained in place for about a month now. Why do you state otherwise? Whom are you goading and for what reason?

I don't lie about you. You on the other hand ...
> "Access to your bbc.co.uk membership is temporarily locked"
Where do you claim that notice is posted though. It isn't on your old BBC account's PS page: U1848948 (I even checked the status of your account once again before saying so, even though it has never looked to be true).
Meanwhile, as you keep on strategically forgetting, once you had your computer crash and lost your cookies and apparently couldn't remember your own password (which you probably hadn't been using), you then triggered the next level of security by repeatedly entering the wrong thing (possibly not even on your own account if you got the login name wrong as well as the password!). Even more ludicrously, you then couldn't remember or answer the backup security question you yourself would have to have entered.

Perhaps you should ask one of those supernatural ETs with whom you claim to be in contact to tell you something useful - such as jogging your memory over your security details. Or, even if you want to maintain the pretence of someone else having logged in and done nothing other than change your password, get them to tell you what the details are set to now. If they can't do that, then it's further evidence they're not much use to you, regardless of what you want to believe.

I cannot GET to my old account page. I am blocked from it even though I know my password.
I cannot GET to any of my old materials. Even today I tried, and I cannot signin with that old name/password combination. They do not lift the block; they do not restore my password; they do not explain why they are doing this.

I don't believe that you *do* know your own login-id, password and, crucially now, security question though. The evidence presented by you over many posts is against it.

Persephone Posted Jan 7, 2007
How silly. It's saved in my memory cache, and I've utilized the same password the whole year-plus that I've been here. I use variations of that same password, everywhere I go.
Stop accusing me of being an idiot!!

You said you'd crashed your computer and lost that information. If that's true and if, as you now once again admit/imply, you've been relying entirely on your computer to do your remembering for you, then that just adds to the likelihood that you yourself have forgotten it.
Why Do You Lie About Me?
Persephone Posted Jan 7, 2007
Not at all. I know you want to believe the worst about me that you can even imagine; but I swear to you I did not forget my password.
Never did. I remember and keep track of my passwords, both. To add to the interest of what BBC is doing, now that I have a new account, they are not permitting me to delete any journal entry that I happen to put up. They tell me "subscribers cannot delete an entry other than their own." This is after I'm signed in, I'm AT My Page, and I'm looking at an old journal entry that needs to be updated or thrown out.
BBC is messing with me, SEF. And they do not say why.

> "I swear to you I did not forget my password."
I don't believe you because your claim doesn't fit the evidence. Not the evidence you've presented. Not the evidence about you from your history of posting on the site. Not even quite the evidence I know about the BBC's own behaviour.
> "they are not permitting me to delete any journal entry that I happen to put up"
1. People can't really delete journal entries anyway. They can only make them vanish from the journal display. They still exist, including on the lists of any people who have already contributed to them.
> "They tell me"
No, the site software tells you in its error messages.
> "subscribers cannot delete an entry other than their own."
That's true. It would be bad if people could delete other people's entries, whether subscribed or not.
> "This is after I'm signed in, I'm AT My Page"
Which page precisely, eg your old Personal Space or your new PS? Which journal entry (a link to it would answer the previous question too)?
> "BBC is messing with me"
I don't believe you. Again, in making that judgment, I'm relying on both your own testimony and the weight of several years of evidence of displayed levels of competence (or lack of it!) and behavioural form of both you and the BBC staff. You're not describing the sort of messing of which they're normally guilty. Even the slightly similar things aren't similar enough and involved similarly extremely dodgy witnesses (in both competence and honesty).
Why Do You Lie About Me?
Persephone Posted Jan 7, 2007
That's par for the course.
Not believing people who tell you the truth is your greatest asset to these forums.
Look at all the chaos you can create by not believing honest people.

Untrue. Not believing the falsehoods (whether or not the people who tell them know they are false) is just one of the ways in which I'm an asset.
> "Look at all the chaos you can create by not believing honest people."
I don't create such chaos. I disbelieve the incompetent and dishonest people. Naturally, they don't like that.

Tellingly, you didn't respond with any of the information I'd asked for that could possibly have enabled me to help you. One might almost think you only wanted an ongoing excuse to whinge and didn't genuinely want any help fixing anything at all.
Let's still pretend that you do want help though, unhelpful as you are in return:
Your old account = U1848948 (PS page A15013432 )
Which currently has F5270068?thread="/h2g2/forum/5270069" >F5270069 message space, there's only one thread which you posted to yourself, rather than any of the ones which would have been attached to your original mbreligion-registration forums.
Checking back, your original trick PS page of A5014667 is still listed as being on mbreligion but now isn't permitted to be shown since it causes a redirect to U1848948. The older journal off *that* page is F2362686?thread= U6814807
h2g2 PS page = A18000262
with journal = F6119417?thread= F6122071?thread="/h2g2/forum/6119417" >F6119417 ( <./>MJ6814807?journal=6119417</.> )

Your research is amazing.
Where am I supposed to go with it? And how does knowing this, fix it?
What would it take for me to be able to revert to my previous account? is my only real question. Since you're smart enough to figure out the rest of this, please just tell me that.
How do I fix this mess and get everything back to one account? I've already written the staff, and got no response.
Wow.

> "Where am I supposed to go with it?"
You were supposed to answer the question(s) and confirm which forums (pages, accounts etc) you were talking about. I'll go with my guess being correct though, ie: F6119417?thread=3733499&cmd=unsubscribejournal</.>
<./>FSB6119417?thread=3734023&cmd=unsubscribejournal</.>
<./>FSB6119417?thread=3738866&cmd=unsubscribejournal</.>
(NB They won't work for other people who aren't logged in as you.)
If they seem to work, go back to your Personal Space page and check. If they don't appear to work. Then copy back to here, as accurately as you can, the error message you get. Any mistakes you make in doing that are only hurting yourself by damaging anyone else's ability to help you.

> "What would it take for me to be able to revert to my previous account?"
I'd already told you that. From the state in which you apparently currently are, with the error message about which you had been getting confused, it looks as though you simply have to remember the security question-and-answer you had to add to your BBC account when it became an SSO one. You may not understand the abbreviation "SSO" but, nonetheless, you *will* have performed the Q&A activity. Your memory still looks to be the main problem.
If you want me to believe otherwise, you'll have to quote *accurately* all the rest of the instructions the page gives you - some of which may require you to be using a compatible browser since the BBC has been very bad about testing its page code in the past and it could easily be faulty. The browser most likely to work with BBC pages is Internet Explorer on Windows (presumably because many of the relevant staff use it).
If you can post evidence of some other problem than the one I expect it to be, then I will have something with which to work when investigating further. Tech support depends on accurate reporting of problems. Submit inaccurate reports or report the wrong thing entirely and you won't get anywhere much.
> "How do I fix this mess and get everything back to one account?"
I don't believe you'll ever get everything back onto one account now that you have two. That's not permitted by the BBC's software. The posts will always show which account posted them. However, there's a very slim chance of getting article pages transferred between accounts if you can convince the BBC staff that you're worth their effort in doing that non-routine task.
It's also still slightly possible that your "one account" could become your original one again; whereas your current "one account" is your new one - since you say you can't actually access your old one!
> "I've already written the staff"
Which staff and how? NB Posting complaints onto your private journal or mbreligion threads etc (as you have been doing) doesn't count as writing to the BBC staff.
> "and got no response."
That's fairly typical. It's even more likely to happen if you haven't even written a sensible email to the appropriate people though.

"You can't unsubscribe from another person's Journal"
Confound it. I'm logged in, and I can't delete my own entries.
Confound it. I have quite a cache of writing at the "chaiyah" account, and I can't get to it because BBC will not unblock the account. I put in the "secret message" umpteen times, and they won't accept it. I have it right; I sure as hell ought to know what my father's name is.
I must be dumb as a rock; but, SEF, I'm not making any headway. Maybe it's too late and I need some sleep.
See you tomorrow.

Well you do reckon you have quite a choice of "fathers"! And it's even possible you introduced a typo the first time round.

Not really; and I'm not here enough to be familiar enough with the system, to figure this all out. It just doesn't seem to be worth it.
I put in about two hours a day here; and nobody cares.
Is there any way I can get to the previous account's "guide" entries that I never posted for approval?
That would help, a lot.
Emily

SEF Posted Jan 9, 2007
You can always copy the contents of those old entries into new entries owned by your new account. I doubt many people would dispute that the two chaiyahs were the same person (ie had the same authorship copyright), given the extensive behavioural evidence from posts.
I haven't quite finished investigating the other issues though. I've just been a bit busy and your problems weren't top priority compared with certain other things.
Why Do You Lie About Me?
Persephone Posted Jan 9, 2007
Hey, SEF. I'm really impressed with how you've dug some of this up.
I'm so dense about this system; I don't know how to get back to the writings I did under the old account.
What do I need to do to get back there? There is no hurry. I just want to pull out a few things to put back in my other blog. Just a few.
Thanks so much for your kind attention and efforts on this problem of mine.
