At least you remembered to unsubscribe this time.
You'd better be careful where you lurk though, in case you find stuff you'd rather not have read...

This time, I was lurking around <./>MP211824</.> - after all, you've repeatedly admitted to lurking around my personal space.

You spotted that italic conversation then?
I don't really mind you lurking. I'm just trying to protect any innocence you might have left. Most top security CA stuff is elsewhere. As I said on another occasion when the subject of lurking on my space came up, I _know_ there are far worse people doing it. You're mostly harmless ... and a few other things I could mention and possibly have already but probably shouldn't.

I didn't spot that thread - I don't lurk for very long in any one place! I get distracted by various links and end up hopping all over h2g2.

[distract, distract] Ooh look - it's a shiny new thread...
What! Still here? Not falling for that old one then?
Actually I did wonder how long it was going to take wowbagger to notice something (A956423)...

"Wowbagger stuck in a pothole"?
I hope you haven't made any Rho blobs without telling me...

You may notice that he's not very convincingly stuck. I think he dug the pit himself to hide from his child and get some peace and quiet but that he is now being dragged into a game of International Rescue. I did do a circle of his face for the front page but, despite agreeing it would be funny, the italics decided they had a policy of not putting researcher's portraits on the front page (even if only in cartoon form).
I don't know what you look like - though I could make something up from your nickname. The BBC Renegades group (and occasionally the CAs) uses its photo section and suggested people put something there. I did eventually manage to find one of me - not many exist. Some of the other people were very scary.

I didn't ask for a Rho blob, although one would be an interesting addition to any personal space...

That sounded suspiciously like a request. Though I would have thought you could do something yourself - especially with the "assistance" of Spelugx...

I'm absolutely terrible at creating graphics - my limit would be a straight, black, vertical line.

SEF Posted Apr 24, 2003
Worryingly, straight black lines are some of the things these smug people with their flashy expensive cheat-filled packages are worst at!

You never did deny being a Rho-bot you know...
...or another hologram (though you weren't accused of that).
I suppose that only leaves the cat descendant - and I don't think that's quite you.
Rho-bot it is then. It certainly explains the straight lines. In part you must be a vector plotter.

Rho Posted Apr 25, 2003
I thought it was obvious that I wasn't a Rho bot, or, for that matter, a hologram, tribble or Talaxian.
*whispers a trade secret* Paintbrush and Word both do excellent straight lines.

So you're only an amateur or part-time plotter then?
I've been giving some thought to a personal logo for you and I have to wonder what the letters are intended to mean. There are multiple choices [pun] but normally:
Rho = density
Mu = modulus (various properties of a material, eg elasticity)
Nu = frequency
Q = some sort of charge
At that point I began to realise the enormous capacity for potential bad jokes to which you had exposed yourself by choosing that nickname (and I don't just mean all those appalling puns). I don't know if you chose it deliberately, had it thrust upon you by someone else or merely didn't notice the combination of associations. In any case I probably shouldn't elaborate further and really ought to walk away from this one right now...
... I'm still going ...
... I'm not looking back ...
... Those thoughts are not even going to begin to speculate about the merest possibility of crossing my mind ...
art
Rho Posted Apr 25, 2003
It looks like I wouldn't want to know what these associations are.
If you're interested, I was stuck for ideas when I had to choose a nickname, so quickly threw together some random Greek letters, and added a 'Q' to make sure the name hadn't been used before. I meant to change it later, but it stuck!

So you're not much of a physics/engineering specialist then? I assumed that _you_ would have covered all the sciences even if the majority of people get a rubbishy education these days. You are certainly reviewing/editing the right sort of stuff here. Though, thinking about other pieces of unrepeatable biographical information, it may just be a question of degree [another pun but also true].
Oh well, there's plenty of time to corrupt your innocence later.

Rho Posted Apr 25, 2003
I'm afraid that I'm not into physics as much as I am the other sciences, and various branches of maths. Therefore, I still don't have any idea what you're talking about!
